S3C Chapter 76: Graveyard Smash

Happy (late) Halloween, folks. I wasn't originally planning on doing a Halloween chapter, but the timing was close enough that I changed my mind. I hope you all enjoy this regularly scheduled chapter!

Eva POV

Eva sat at the Lemuria Hub train station, waiting for the arrival of the friends that were meant to be here earlier.

She was busy scrolling through her phone on social media before Smallfry hopped off of the bench and started running off, catching Eva's attention.

Eva: What is it, little buddy?

She looked up and noticed the three people he was so excited to see, causing her to hop off the bench next and run over to them.

Eva: Fi~nally you three are here. What took you so long?

(Y/N): We got a bit held up. Looks like there are plenty of people coming to the Splatlands for Splatoween.

Eva: I see.

She says as she looks at all the people in costumes getting off the train.

Eva: So, what are you three supposed to be?

She says, looking at (Y/N) first to see his fancy getup as he spreads his cape.

(Y/N): Obviously, I'm a vampire.

Eva snickered.

Eva: Okay, enough, dork, before someone sees you doing that.

(Y/N) got embarrassed by her saying that as he now felt self conscious with his posing.

Next, Eva looked over at Veronica who-

Eva stared at Veronica silently with wide eyes for a few long moments, noticing her fuzzy hair, causing Eva to remember the fuzzy Octolings she fought against down in Alterna so long ago.

Veronica: I am a werewolf!

Veronica said happily as she posed with her hands while Eva sat quiet for a few more moments longer before responding.

Eva: Right! Of course.

She snapped out of it before turning lastly to Liz.

Eva looked at the captain as she just stood there plainly in a single white sheet with no extra effort.

Eva: Is that it?

Liz: Boo.

Liz said casually while holding up her arms under the sheets before dropping them back down to her sides.

Eva: That all you got for a costume?

Liz: What's wrong with it? It's a classic costume, and it's even one of the Splatoween Splatfest team choices.

Eva: I get it, it just seems like even for a ghost costume it's a little plain.

Liz: You know it was also a Splatoween team back in the day too.

Liz said once again trying to defend herself.

Veronica: Liz forgot to get a costume prepped until last minute.

Veronica admitted, causing Liz to try and hide her shame underneath the ghost costume.

Liz: Can we just get going already..?

Liz pleaded, causing the four of them to now start making their way to their destination, with (Y/N) giving Liz a reassuring pat on the back that her costume was good.
