(Y/N) POV
(Y/N) dug his hands through the coarse ground below him, pushing the grains out of his way before something shiny reflected light back at him, causing (Y/N) to cover his eyes for a moment. After his vision adjusted to the flash of light, he pushed more of the sand out of the way before picking up the shiny object cheerfully.
(Y/N): Booyah!
He happily held up the metal scrap as Smallfry danced side to side for a second.
(Y/N): I told you I could do a good job at scrap hunting.
He said to the squid decked in a cloak and reflective shades.
Eva: Yeah, you do a good job diggin' up what Smallfry finds.
Smallfry let out a happy noise at the acknowledgment of his good work.
(Y/N): Yo, you have your little buddy guide you to scrap all the time.
Eva: I could do it without him though. He and I are a team and get it done faster though. I can find plenty of scrap on my own if I need to. Don't worry though, I'm sure you'll get there one day.
(Y/N): I can't even tell if that was purposefully meant to sound degrading or not.
Eva just smiled and looked around for more locations where scrap could be.
(Y/N): I know you've got other means of making money, but is this like you're main gig?
Eva looked back at him, smirking.
Eva: It might not be the most efficient money-making scheme I've got at play, but at one point in time, it was my only option, so I got really good at it. And is it really work if you love doing it?
Eva spoke happily of her scrap-collecting hobby.
(Y/N): You just like how cool your outfit you wear out in the desert is and the rumors that spread about you because of it, don't you?
Eva: Guilty~!
She happily exclaimed as she did a spin to show off her tattered cloak, her reflective shades, and the mask around her neck.
Eva: Can you blame me? This 'fit is fresh! Just too bad it's not Turf War regulated...
(Y/N): Maybe one day they'll allow it. You've got people running around wearing three pairs of sunglasses after all.
Eva: Yes! Then I can even hide a piece of scrap under the cloak to tank the hits for me.
(Y/N): I say it could be allowed later and you immediately plot something that would get you kicked out anyway. Besides, you got that from an old cowboy movie.
Eva: Nah, pretty sure I made that up myself. But completely unrelated, doesn't all this sand make it look like those old cowboy movies? I used to love re-enacting scenes out here with Smallfry.
Eva said, turning to Smallfry, pretending to hold a weapon.
Eva: Stick 'em up!
She commanded, causing Smallfry to stick his fins up, before she made a fake boom sound, causing Smallfry to play dead and her pretending to spin her imaginary weapon back into a holster.
(Y/N) clapped.
(Y/N): Impressive. Though it's a bit hard to see with this glaring sunlight. Can't you pass me the shades? You've got the hood and are used to this desert sun anyway.
Eva: How long did you stay in the Splatlands and you still can't handle a bit of sun?
She asked as she took off her shades and tossed them to (Y/N) to put on.
