S3C Chapter 59: Late Introduction

(Y/N) POV

(Y/N) sat completely still with his hands nervously resting on his lap without speaking, just as he had on the ride here.

However, despite having plenty of time to think on the way here, he hadn't expected that this of all places would be their destination, despite being somewhere quite familiar to him.

Sitting in the room with him now was his parents, who initially smiled at his arrival but got as nervous as he did once they saw the other Inkling who now sat in the room with them, the father of his friend, Pearl.

Mom: What did you do..?!

(Y/N)'s mother whispered to (Y/N).

(Y/N): Why do you immediately assume I did something wrong..?!

(Y/N) pleaded for his parents' faith.

Pearl's Dad: I'm here to talk about what your son has done.

(Y/N)'s mother raised an eyebrow in (Y/N)'s direction which caused (Y/N) to laugh embarrassedly before his father spoke up.

Dad: Look, sir, I'm sure this is all some big misunderstanding-

Pearl's Dad: -Your son once upon a time was good friends with my precious daughter when they were kids, but then he crushed her sweet, innocent heart and left her in tears.

Pearl's dad spoke sternly while (Y/N)'s father tried to speak up quickly.

Dad: I'm very sorry, you know how kids can be-

Pearl's Dad: -Yes, I do, which is why I let that go years ago... ᴬᶠᵗᵉʳ ᵐʸ ᵈᵃᵘᵍʰᵗᵉʳ ᶜᵒⁿᵛᶦⁿᶜᵉᵈ ᵐᵉ ⁿᵒᵗ ᵗᵒ ᵈᵒ ᵃⁿʸᵗʰᶦⁿᵍ... No, that was just to set the stage. What I'm here about is something more recent.

(Y/N)'s parents glared over at him for a moment, causing him to just nervously smile while avoiding their gaze before the front door of the home opened.

Pearl: Yo, is this the right place?

Pearl looked around the place confused before she spotted her father and (Y/N).

Pearl's dad perked up at the sight of his daughter.

Pearl's Dad: There's my sweet daughter now.

Pearl: Someone wanna tell me what's going on? I get a text from my friends that you squidnapped (Y/N) and then you just call me and tell me to meet you here? Where even is this? Why does this feel like one of your business deals?

Pearl's Dad: This is your friend's parents' house.

Pearl's face flushed with a bit of ink, now feeling a bit self-conscious about her demeanor but trying to play it cool as she looked around the room and saw (Y/N)'s parents but tried to ignore it as now she was even more confused.

Pearl: I'm even more confused then about what's going on now.

Pearl's dad nodded and went back to addressing (Y/N)'s parents.

Pearl's Dad: I knew my daughter and your son reunited long ago-

Pearl: -You what?

Pearl's Dad: -But the thing that I'm here about is finding out that my angel here opened her heart to your son and mercilessly stomped all over her feelings.

Pearl's dad said, finally getting to the point causing (Y/N) to be confused while Pearl looked upset and embarrassed by her father.

Pearl: What the heck, dad?! How you gonna put your daughter on blast like that? And that's not even how that happened!
