IT ALMOST WORKED !
the walking dead !
season 4 episode 14 !" don't say goodbye, smell you later"
HE HATED THE DARK. the dark concealed the monsters that walked, it once hid the monsters that roamed so freely. wearing a mask so others couldn't determine weather or not they were a threat, and in most cases those who you believed to be good people; weren't good people. rather they'd be the worst people you'd know.he hated the dark more now that he couldn't see the dead, he'd only be able to hear them until they were directly on him. the stars twinkled brightly in the sky, shining down on them as they camped beneath the bridge. cob webs resided in the corners of the bridge, spiders making their homes safely and away from the ground.
his head lent back flush against the cool concrete pillar, his mouth clamped shut, fingers clenching around the dirt beneath him. it wasn't an ideal place to remove the bullet that had been bringing him so much discomfort, yet he didn't know if they'd find someplace better to remove it, and he wasn't sure how much longer he'd be able to go. the pain was unbearable, like scorching hot knives were being pushed into the hole every time his muscles moved.
carol attempted to be gentle, trying to not move the tweezers she had to much, yet she also had to be sure she got the whole bullet out. lee let out a low groan, his teeth sinking into his bottom lip, he could taste the metallic substance filling his mouth. carol mumbled soft apologies to him each time she moved to suddenly, wary of harming the injured boy more then he already had been.
her hands slowly pulled the tweezers from his arm, retrieving the final piece of the bullet that had been lodged within his arm. "that's the last one." she mumbled, dropping it into the dirt, a tight lipped smile on her face as she met his glossy eyes. he nodded, sweat covering his skin in a thin layer. he let out a breath, his body slightly relaxing as she messed with the needle she'd found, needing to stitch his arm so it would heal.
she met his weak eyes, he lips parted as his bottom one dotted with the crimson color. "how've you been holding up?" she questioned him, her motherly gaze meeting his own. he kissed his teeth, turning his head away from her gaze. "stupid question, i know." carol mumbled, gently tugging the thread tight, beginning to push the needle through his skin once more. "do you think anyone made it out alive?" lee questioned, his eyes cascading to his lap. he played with his fingers, to tired to meet the women's eyes.
he didn't want to see the look in her eye, the one that would tell him the chances of anyone else surviving weren't high. he knew it himself, between the gun fire and the walkers, it would've been nearly impossible to get out alive. "you mean, do i think colette made it out alive?" carol questioned softly, raising a brow at the boy who shrugged, wincing when he did so. she pursed her lips at the boy, gently tying the thread into a knot she cut the small thread. gently patting the boys shoulder as she moved to sit beside him. "i think she could've. she'd stronger then we think." carol told softly, lee didn't respond as he pulled his shirt back on. concealing his skin from the cold air that nipped that him, he let out a sigh at her words. his tongue glided over his bottom lip, tasting the taste of his own blood.
