THE SUN WAS LIKE a warm bath, warming her skin until it was red and hot, until her body couldn't be in the hot water any longer. yet she couldn't simply escape the blazing sun, or the heat that followed with it. a thin layer of sweat covered her body, the wind hadn't graced them yet, so she stood in the path of the hot sun. hands pressed on her hips, listening to the sound of the lock latching shut.

they'd moved the two remaining prisoners, into a small shack at the bottom of the field, clicked the gate locked tightly, with no sign of letting them loose any time soon. she didn't want them in the cell block, she didn't want them anywhere near her people. rick looked to tdog in confusion, lips pursed and bewilderment on his face. it wasn't a good idea, letting the prisoners live with them, how would that ever make sense. natalia hadn't agreed with allowing them to stay so close to them, she didn't feel safe with two strangers living so close to them. natalia hated the idea, and she'd happily voice that. the walsh boy couldn't help but agree with her, he didn't trust them for even a second. "are you serious? you want them to share a cell with us. they'd be waiting for the time to grab our weapons, you wanna go back to sleeping with one eye open?" rick spoke, leaning against the tipped over bus, forearm pressing firmly against the fading blue paint.

his brows furrowed, his blue eyes glinted with confusion. "i never stopped. bring them into the fold. we send them off, we're basically executing them ourselves." tdog told, looking between the group that each shared a glance. glenn sighed, a hand rested on his hip. "i don't know, axel seems a little unstable." glenn told with a soft sigh, the man seemed to be on the verge of a mental breakdown. nat wasn't sure if she wanted to be around when that happened. rick had told them what the prisoners had done, why they'd only returned with two of them. that alone only pushed the fear natalia had, keeping them close could result in a second time for them to attempt and kill them all.

carol looked around the small group, her arms crossed over her chest. "after all we've been through, we all fought hard for this place. what if they decide to take it?" carol told, natalia nodded softly from beside her. "it's to much of a risk." nat commented, the chances of them turning on the group and taking the prison, was to high for colette's liking, she didn't want to take the chance. "it's just been us for so long, i don't." maggie's voice trailed off, southern accent thick as she spoke. natalia nodded softly, she looked to everyone in the group like they were family; they practically were. risking her families life's for two people, she didn't like those odds. "you took us in." tdog commented, hands stuffed into his jeans pockets, looking to the bruntte women. "you turned up with an injured boy, you didn't really give us much of a choice." maggie told softly, arms folded over her chest as she lightly rocked on her heels.
