ADRENALINE PUMPED through her veins, gun held tightly in her hand. the five ran through the echoing tombs, the dead were everywhere, with every corner they rounded they were cut off by another herd of the dead. no matter the direction they turned, the dead were waiting with snapping jaws and dead milky eyes. her blood was rushing to her ears, and she could barley breath. her skin was covered in a thin layer of sweat, from both the heat and the never ending fear she had been feeling since the dead had entered the courtyard.
pained moans left loris lips, soft whimpers of pain. she clutched tightly to maggie, the sound of her mother being in pain on furthered the fear she was already feeling. she wasn't sure what she could do to help her. maggie helped support the grimes woman, while the two teens kept the dead from crawling onto them and while carl searched for a place they could lay low for a while. yet the search wasn't looking very promising, every turn they took the dead seemed to cut them off. carl rounded a corner, the four chasing after him, he tugged on a door handle, and a breath of relief left his lips. "in here!" he yelled, pushing open a door, his gun aimed high as he checked for walkers within the room. they all hurried inside the room, jogging lightly down the steps. natalia slammed her back into the door, forcing it to completely shut as her chest heaved for air.
lori clutched tightly onto the chains hanging from the roof, her head hung low, pants escaping her lips. natalia slowly neared the panting woman, her hand shoved the gun into her holster as she laid a hand on her mothers arm. worry and fear clouded her eyes as she looked at lori. the teen jolted upon hearing the sound of the blaring siren filled their ears, lori grunted, sucking in a deep breath of air. "what're those alarms?" she questioned, breathless as she leaned against the brick wall, head leant backwards as she stared at the roof. natalia shared a glance with lee before her eyes darted to maggie, she shook her head at the woman who pursed her lips yet nodded non the less. "don't worry about it." maggie responded, not wanting to worry the grimes woman any more. the four followed lori as she walked away from where she once lent.
natalia placed a worried hand onto her moms bicep, her lips downturned. "mom" nat tried, only earning pained groans from her mother in return, loris face contorted in pain as she attempted to catch the heavy breaths that left her lips. "lori why don't we lay you down?" maggie offered softly, hand flush against the small of the grimes woman back, natalia shared a look with the brunette, neither knowing what to do. "no the baby's coming." lori told, sweat dripping down her forehead, natalia's eyes darted back to her mother, a crease formed between her brows. "right now?" lee questioned his voice dripping with shock, his brows raised, natalia sent him a look telling him to be quiet. "we've gotta get you back to the cell block, we need hershel's help." carl told, motioning to the door, lips parted as worry painted his face. maggie was quick to object, shaking her head. "no, we can't risk getting caught out there. this babies gonna have to be delivered here." maggie told, shaking her head at the boy who looked between his mother and maggie. natalia sucked in a breath of air, panic building in her chest, stomach in knots.
