Chapter 49: Pushing goodbye.

Aria Friend:

"Ms Friend, my class isn't a place where you can take a nap."

My eyes opened to a hand tapping my desk, the rapping sound sending a rhythmic vibration across the wood.

"Sorry Mrs Lenn, I'm just so tired from studying," I yawned, covering my mouth.

"Studying?" the young female teacher sighed, clearly not believing me. "You do know that when your girlfriend streams, we teachers can also see that." She crossed her arms, "I'm glad you're enjoying your youth but don't let it affect your health, or your grades." Her last few words were emphasised.

"Hehe, sorry," I was pretty easily caught. "I'll finish the questions I promise."

"Try to finish them now rather than later. Also remember, I'm here if you need help." She left my desk, moving across the room to where another student had her hand up.

I steadied my posture, focusing back onto my math work only to have a hand tap on my upper arm. It was one of the few true friends I had at the school, Izzy. The same girl who had been with me when the stalker attacked us. The incident felt far away considering everything that happened, but to her, it was a recent memory.

"Is everything okay?" she asked curiously. "Were you really just gaming?"

"Pretty much," I couldn't lie to her.

"Aria," she frowned, "we have exams soon! You should focus."

"I will," I smiled to her. Really, I wasn't too concerned with the exams. Before the Fall I wanted to study as much as I could and work my way to be a professional leading the business world. Now I doubted I had the time for that. It also helped that I had memories of the exam and already knew the questions, but I was definitely not telling her that.

Izzy nodded only for her eyes to focus on me intently, "So uh... how are things with Erin?"

"They're good," I grinned without any intention to hide it. "Best decision I've made in my life."

Behind us a group of girls glared at my back in disgust, commenting to each other, as another pair of boys smirked. I knew what they said about me, but I honestly couldn't care less.

Izzy however frowned and turned towards them, "What, you got a problem?"

The girl whose name I couldn't remember focused her glare further, "We do. What your 'friend' is doing is disgusting. If I were you, I'd be afraid. She shouldn't be allowed even in the same building as us, let alone a change room."

"Ha!" Izzy laughed at her. "Don't flatter yourself. No one's bothering to look at you anyway." I heaved, almost choking on my own saliva from Izzy's sudden assault. The girl looked aghast.

"Mrs Lenn, did you hear what she just said to me?" she yelled to the teacher.

Mrs Lenn who was busy helping a student looked up indifferently, "No I did not. But if you'd like to repeat what you both said to the Principle, I can arrange that. No? Then get on with your math work. Exams are coming people!"

Begrudgingly the girl looked away and Izzy huffed, "Yeah like I thought. Sorry Aria, they're just being judgemental because they can't even fathom what you have."

"It's pretty nice," I smiled sincerely.

"Y-yeah," Izzy blanked before blinking and turning away. "Umm by the way, your brother is he-."
