it was about 4pm that day when i was finally allowed to go back to the hotel, and honestly i couldn't wait to lie in a comfortable bed. i was exhausted, and the hospital beds are not comfortable.

"okay, i've ordered us a taxi." kimi says, as i walk out of the bathroom in some comfy, cleaner clothes. well, a matching pair of sweatpants and a hoodie. something i normally don't wear out of the house, but i was still in a lot of pain and aching.

"i can't wait to get back to the hotel and sleep." i say, resting my head against ollie's shoulder.

there was no doubt that ollie was tired too, after all he did stay awake for me to wake up last night whilst both jules and kimi slept. so i knew he needed sleep.

"do you want to get any food?" ollie asks.

"no i'm good, thanks." i reply. after the constant vomiting recently, i wasn't exactly in the mood to eat anything.

"well you do need to eat." kimi says, looking up from his phone.

"i know, i know. i just don't want to throw up anymore."

"why don't we order smoothies then?" ollie suggests, wrapping his hand around mine, stroking it with his thumb.

"maybe. honestly i just want to sleep." i say

"well we can do." he replies, as the door opens and a doctor walks in.

"is everything alright?" ollie asks.

"sort of, there seems to be a large crowd of people outside." they say.

"like fans?" i ask, the doctor nodding in response.

"how do they know where we are? why are they here?" kimi asks.

"we guess they are here for you three. however we can't make them leave, so we have our security just outside your door to escort you out." the doctor says.

"okay, thank you doctor. they should leave soon, our taxi is just round the corner." kimi says.

"well i will leave you with security." the do it says, before leaving the room.

kimi grabs my bag, and ollie pulls the hood of my hoodie up to hide my face as i thank him.

"we just need to walk through, then we are a short ride away." he says, his hand on mine.

"yeah." i reply, nodding.

the two security guards lead us to the door, and clear a path out of the hospital. the doctor really did mean a large crowd of people. form fans to photographers. i tried to look down, hide my face from the cameras whilst ollie pulled me through the crowd, but i would have walked into someone.

once we were safely inside the taxi i let out a loud sigh, looking across at ollie, then kimi before all three of us laugh a little. this most definitely would not have happened last year. i guess three formula 1 drivers attracts a lot of people.

"that was... an experience." ollie says, still holding onto my hand.

"yeah." me and kimi say at the same time, laughing again.

"i say £500 that im in hospital again on my birthday next year." i say.

"deal." kimi says, as i shake his hand.

"i didn't expect you to do that, surely it can't happen a third time." i say.

"well it's two times in a row, sort of a normal way to spend our birthday now." he replies.

"you will be glad to know that there's no race near your birthday next year." ollie says, after looking it up on his phone.

"thank fuck. i still wouldn't plan anything, just in case." i say.

we spent the car ride back to the hotel chatting, a little livelier than we were back in the hospital room. but we were still tired, the thought that we could be in a bed within the next 15 minutes was definitely keeping me going and stopping me from sleeping right there and then.

once we had arrived at the hotel, we entered the elevator, as our rooms were on the 5th floor and we didn't want to climb all those stairs.

"what the fuck just happened." i say, as i hear an unusual sound and the elevator stops moving.

"i think it's broken." ollie replies.

"your joking." kimi says, before pressing the call button on the elevator and speaking to the person at reception whilst me and ollie take a seat on the floor.

"well they said they are trying to fix it, should be half an hour." he says, taking a seat on the opposite side to me.

"what a birthday." i say, as we laugh.

"appendix removal and now stuck in an elevator."

"oh no, you didn't hear about this morning." ollie says laughing, whilst i slowly realise what he was talking about.

"ollie, i swear to god." i say, giving him a dirty look.

"come on mate you have to say." kimi says, laughing at my reaction.

"right so-" ollie begins saying before i put my hand over his mouth.

kimi wraps his arm around me, pulling me away from ollie so he could tell the story. and well i hate to admit it, but kimi is stronger than me. i hate going to the gym.

"if i was awake i would have taken a photo of you." kimi says, as i sit against the wall properly, giving him a dirty look as well.

"thanks, glad to know what our relationship is like." i joke, before resting my head on ollie's shoulder.

"i could be in bed right now." i complain.

"is this a bad time to say i need the toilet?" kimi says.
