ollie's pov:

after almost two and a half hours of constant meetings, i finally had a break to check my phone. odd, still no reply from angel.

i knew she didn't have that busy of a day before the race, and even so, she went in her phone during meetings anyway. normally she would have replied by now which was worrying me.

especially with all the comments online at the moment. i've even seen rumours saying we have broken up which- oh god. obviously they aren't true.

she would know that. of course she knows that, but she hates rumours. rumours, and negative comments about her always affect her more than anyone. that's why i told her to stay away from them. but i know she would have looked at them at some point.

i try calling her, but it goes straight to voicemail. maybe she was filming with kimi? no, she always has her phone turned on. i quickly leave haas, and walk down the pit lane towards aston martin.

"have you seen angel?" i ask the first person i see in the garage, a mechanic i had seen a few times before.

"lost track of your fiancée, have you? but embarrassing no?" he asks in a northern accent.

"she's not er answering her phone." i reply, ignoring his snarky comment.

"oh no, such a shame." he replies, looking back down at his phone.

"could i go to her room if she's there, just check on her?" i ask, staying completely calm despite the mechanic increasing my frustration every time he speaks.

"nah, garage is restricted to other teams." he replies, still not looking up. how rude can someone be? for no reason as well?

"okay... could you go and tell her i'm here please?" i reply. fair enough i wasn't allowed in, i understand that.

"nah." the man replies, finally looking up at me, a glint in his eyes. i was slowly loosing my patience, he could have already been to her room and back by now.

"i don't see why i should, you drivers lot parade up and down the paddock like you own the place, like we are some fucking slaves or something-"

"i'm not here as a driver, i'm here as her fiancé, whose worried about her." i reply, my jaw clenching in frustration.

"same difference." he replies, smirking as he knows what's he's doing purposefully.

i didn't have time to deal with him, my jaw tightening in annoyance. i was about to leave, giving up on my attempt to find angel, when he goes to speak again.

"y'know what, i think i did hear something about her, maybe she saw it too. what was it now... all that talk about her starving herself, and she still looks like that? attention seek-"

he didn't get to finish his sentence before i take a step closer to him, not touching him, not grabbing him, i would never touch anyone in that way. i'm not agressive. but even so, i forced him to take a step back.

my movements were controlled, i wasn't about to accidentally hit him or even graze his hand with my little finger, but my eyes were full of rage, and he knew it.

i would never ever hit anyone, not even the slightest bit. i grew up that way, i was raised right, never to hit or hurt anyone. and especially since angel. everything she went through, the impact it had on her. i don't understand how anyone could ever do that to someone.

anger wasn't something i felt often, normally im a calm person. i get on with most people. but not when they insult angel, not like that.

"would you care to say that again hm?" i reply, inches between our faces. i could tell my movements shocked him, from the surprise in his eyes for a moment.

"going to death stare me to my grave hm?" he mocks, as my jaw clenches even tighter it almost hurt.

"maybe if she put half as much effort into her driving that you put into playing her little knight in shining armour, she could-"

"that's enough!" someone says, pushing us both away from each other. jules.

he puts his arm across my shoulder, pulling me away from the mechanic.

"she's alright, he's just being a dick ollie. she's not here though which i'm guessing he failed to mention."

"where is she then?" i ask, running my hand through my hair.

"filming with kimi, but if you head over there she should be finishing up soon for the drivers parade."

"wait- why hasn't she been replying to me all day?" i ask, as jules reaches into his pocket, and pulls out her phone.

"i took it, didn't want he to read anymore of the crap he just said." he says, putting it back in his pocket as i nod slowly.

"thank you jules." i say, before heading towards the media centre.

i couldn't go inside, so i waited outside, sitting in a bench just outside. a few minutes passed, and they still weren't out. if i didn't leave soon, i would be late for the driver's parade. even if i had there now, i will see her there. hopefully.
