two hours later...

it was finally time for the driver parade, and then it would be time for the race.

"ang, wait!" i hear my favourite voice shout from behind, and i stop to let ollie catch up.

"hey." i say as he slips his hand in mine.

"just checking, did you remember to eat?" he asks.

"yes, jules brings me all my food at the track. im in capable hands ol."

"yes, but my hands are more capable." he says, smiling down at me.

"i know." i reply, laughing at him. whenever we are together, he always tries to cook for us both. but if he isn't with me, he never forgets to message me with a reminder.

"here we are." he says as we arrive at the driver parade bus and walk up the steps.

i spot paul and kimi already stood talking, and we make our way over to join the conversation.

"finally, the lovebirds are here." paul says, as we reach them.

"shut up." i say, smiling at them both.

the bus start to move and we start to wave a bit at everyone stood around the track.

"god there's so many people!" i say, in shock.

"yeah, the atmosphere is crazy though." kimi says, stood beside me.

"night races are my favourite." i say.

"really? i prefer the day ones." paul says.

"the night is so much calmer though, in general." i say, before it was paul's turn for his interview.

finally it was my turn.

"angelina, first f1 race. how are you feeling?"

"i'm excited honestly, first race since the accident, and i just can't wait to get back to racing full time again."

"you are the first women to participate in an f1 race since 1992, does that add any pressure?"

"yes, i think so. i have the extra pressure to prove that, yes im a girl, but im just as good as any other rookie. and who knows, i could be better."

"you have already out qualified the other rookies, are you hoping to finish in front of them?"

"of course i am, the mind of a driver is to always be the best. and it adds a bit more fun when im competing against my twin brother."

"leading us onto our next driver, kimi antonelli!"

i step away from the camera, and move back to paul and ollie. kimi was the last driver for an interview, so the driver parade was almost finished. meaning, it was almost time to take the car out.

"oh shit." i whisper, starting to stress more.

"what's wrong?" ollie says, taking both of my hands in one of his to stop me messing with them.

"what if i'm not good enough for this?"

"you are good enough."

"what if i crash on the first lap?"

"you wont."

"what if i drop to the back?"

"you still finished the race."

"what if i stall it on the start?"

"then you take it one step at a time."

"what if i prove everyone right, that girls aren't made for this?"

"don't say that, you were born for this."

"i-i'm not." i say, pulling my hands out of his grip and walking off the driver parade bus.

"angelina, wait." i hear a voice say, which i knew wasn't ollie's.

"max?" i say, turning to see him running up to me.

"i know your probably stressing right now." he says, slowing to my pace.

"you got that right."

"but you need to remember to enjoy this. not everyone gets here, but the ones who do are here for a reason. so please don't forget to enjoy yourself." he says, smiling at me.

"thank you max." i say.

"and if you crash, you crash and come back at the next race with a little more experience."

"yeah, i really needed that max."

"you can come to me whenever you need alright? and good luck."

"good luck to you as well." i say, smiling before we part ways to our own garages.

i was about to walk into aston martin when i get stopped again, this time ollie having caught up with me.

"ang!" he says, and i turn around to see worry in his eyes.

"ang." he says softly, and i throw my arms around him in a hug.

"i'm sorry." i mumble whilst hiding my face in his neck.

"no you don't need to be, it's stressful i get it. i was the same last yeah in jeddah."

we stand there in each others arms, i wasn't letting go and i knew he wouldn't.

"are you going to be alright?" he asks, when i finally pull away.

"yeah, thank you." i say, smiling at him weakly.

"okay, i'll find you on the grid alright? i've got to get to haas." he says.

"okay." i reply, giving him a kiss on the cheek before heading into aston martin.

"angel!" lance says, walking over to me with a girl holding his hand that i hadn't met yet.

"hey lance, who's this?." i say, smiling at the two.

"oh sorry, i'm marilou, lance's girlfriend." she says introducing herself.

"it's so nice to meet you, and i love your outfit it's gorgeous."

"thank you! that was your boyfriend out there right?" she says.

"yes."

"your so cute together."

"young love." lance says.

"it was lovely to meet you marilou, but ive got to go prepare for the race now."

"ah yes, good luck." she says.

"you'll do great angel." lance says, giving me a thumbs up before saying goodbye.
