a few days later...

me and ollie arrived in monaco not too long ago, and we were at the hotel unpacking a bit before i would head to charles' home and we would play the piano together.

since miami, thankfully ollie and kimi have made up. yet still, i have no idea what was said. but im guessing it isnt the worst thing in the world, or else i know they wouldnt have made up.

"baby, when are you leaving?" ollie asks, looking up from his phone.

"about 10 minutes. have you seen my brown notebook?" i ask.

"your music one?" he replies.

"yes." i say as ollie passes it me as i thank him.

"so what are you doing today?" i ask, sitting down on the bed as ollie sits down next to me.

"just with kimi, nothing much." he says, his ears going pink at the top.

odd.

"okay, is he coming here?" i ask.

"no, just walking around. we might not be back when your back though." he replies, whilst my suspicions were growing.

i decide to leave it, and just message kimi to ask if he would tell me what they are doing. it's not that i don't believe ollie, but i just want to make sure they aren't doing anything wrong.

"i think it's meant to rain this weekend." ollie says.

"monaco in the wet?" i ask.

"yeah, should be fun."

"yeah, no. it should be a good race weekend to watch." i reply.

not too long later, i decide to leave and begin the walk to charles' and alexandra's home. it was already drizzling with rain, but it was only a short walk and thankfully i had an umbrella.

"angel!" charles says, greeting me and welcoming me into his home.

"your home is lovely, i guess alex has done some decorating?" i say, laughing a little.

"yes, she's just out with leo at the moment, she should be back soon." he says, guiding me towards the piano.

"is this the famous book?" charles asks, as i bring out my brown book.

"yes, it is. and this is yours?" i ask, pointing to a red book on the piano.

"you would be correct, i actually composed us a piece to play."

"really?" i say, shocked.

"yeah, shall we try it?" he asks, and i agree immediately.

ollie's pov:

there was a knock at the hotel room door, and i open it to see kimi stood there.

"alexandra is keeping angel busy as long as we need. so, we doing it?" he asks.

"i don't know. i want to, but is it not too early?" i ask.

"it's not like your proposing tomorrow ollie, your just being prepared."

"do i need to be this prepared?" i ask, second guessing everything.

"it was your idea." kimi points out.

"okay, okay. let's do it." i say, nodding my head.

"so, have you got the ring?"

"yeah." i say, pulling it out of my pocket.

"don't loose it- it's her favourite one." kimi says, us in unison at the end.

"how could i not know it's her favourite, she wears it all the time at home."

"but never at the track." kimi says.

"so she never loses it." i finish.

"okay, come on let's go." kimi says.

"i don't know any shops that sell engagement rings." i realise, thinking out loud.

"it's a good thing your not the only one with a girlfriend, i asked her from some shops to go too."

"what would i do without you." i say, patting him on the shoulder as we leave the hotel.

20 minutes later, we head into the first jewellery shop, cartier.

"hello gentlemen, is a congratulation needed today?" the shop worker asks, approaching us.

"oh no, we aren't getting married. he's planning to propose." kimi says.

"oh, my apologies. do you have any ideas about what your girlfriend would like?" they ask.

"a gold ring, simple but still beautiful." i say.

a while later, we came out of the shop unsuccessful. the rings were good-looking, but not perfect. and it had to be perfect for angel.

after few hours of still unsuccessful i was thinking i wouldn't find a ring. we had been to five shops so far.

"what if this is telling me i shouldn't be doing this?" i say.

"ollie, shut up. you and angel deserve each other. you are perfect for each other. if we don't find a ring today, there's still the rest of your life to find it, although perhaps try find one within the year. you two are soulmates, in every universe, and she hasn't been happier with anyone else other than you. so, oliver bearman. you are doing the right thing. okay? you are marrying her." kimi says.

"yeah, okay." i reply laughing a little at the amount of expression in kimi's voice.

"good. one more shop?"

"one more shop." i say, before checking my phone for any messages or calls from angel. but oddly, nothing.

"has angel messaged you today?" i ask kimi.

"yeah, this morning she messaged me about you coming out with me." he says.

"what did you say?"

"that we went out to explore the city together, and we didn't know when we would be back." he says.

"and has she messaged you since?"

"just a photo of her and leo, and saying she arrived. not you?"

"er no, she hasn't messaged her. i think she's mad at me?"

"why would she be mad at you?"

"i don't know, this morning she was just suspicious of me."

"she might just be worried for you? you know how she is about checking where people are."

"yeah, i guess. i should get her some flowers. after the final shop." i say, as we arrive to the final shop.

20 minutes later, me and kimi walk out of the shop sighs of relief form both of us.

we found the ring. it was perfect, just like her.

kimi holds his hand up, and i high five him. today, was enough shopping for a lifetime. but anything for my gorgeous girlfriend, and hopefully soon fiancé.
