angel's pov:
the drive from the hotel to the track is normally only about 10 minutes, but with the traffic from it being the first official day of the race weekend, it ended up being closer to 25 minutes.
but finally, we had arrived.
"are we going through the back way? without all the fans." ollie asks, knowing i didn't want a lot of fan interaction today.
"no, it's a lot longer walk. i'll just go the normal way." i reply, as ollie opens the car door and climbs out the car, as i do the same.
we walk round to the front of the car, ollie's hand grabbing mine as we sort of run out of the drop off area and towards the paddock entrance.
"i'm going to stay here a little longer, but i'll see you later, okay?" ollie says, kissing the top of my head.
"yeah."
"and please eat something. you need it." ollie says, before i walk away quickly through the crowd of fans behind barriers.
i kept my head down, hiding from all the phones and cameras taking photos of me. thankfully my face was mostly hidden from the two hoods that i had on. i headed straight to the aston martin garage, finding jules to see what my schedule of the day would be.
"angel, your early for once." jules says, greeting me.
"am i?" i reply.
"yeah, you didn't have to be here until 9:30. did you not stay with ollie?" he asks.
"it's a bit wet outside, so i headed straight in. do i have any media today?"
"nope, you did it all yesterday. just meeting and practice today, you can have an early night."
"do you want to head to the gym tonight?" i ask.
"yeah sure, why not. 7:30 sound good to you?"
"yep, if it is a short day like you say. how long until the meeting?"
"20 minutes, did you eat before you came?"
"yeah, i ate with ollie." i lie.
"okay, well your free to do whatever until the meeting, just don't be late." jules says, before called away by a group of engineers and i head over to some of the mechanics which i spoke too often.
once it got to around 6pm that night, everything i had to do at the track was done, and it was finally time to go and meet ollie and go home. as normal, ollie was already waiting outside the aston martin garage for me.
"how was your day?" he asks, after greeting me with a kiss.
"it was okay, what about you?" i reply, as we begin walking down the paddock hand in hand.
"alright, just a lot of meetings today. did you talk to lando?"
"no, no i haven't."
"have you seen him at all?"
"not really, ive been hiding out in the garage pretty much all day." i say, laughing a little.
"well we can stop by the mclaren garage now?" ollie suggests as we approach the papaya orange garage.
"i think he already went home." i lie, i knew ollie didn't believe me, but he wouldn't protest about it.
"okay, well maybe you can catch him tomorrow. have you eaten yet?"
"oh, yeah." i lie once again, swallowing the guilt i was feeling. i hated lying to him.
"are you sure?"
"yeah, i ate a sandwich a little while ago. well not a full one." i reply.
technically, i did get a sandwich from the team food area, but i just binned it out my way out. i didn't want anyone to suspect anything.
"really?" he says, his face lighting up. what a way to make me feel worse, maybe i shouldn't be lying.
"yeah." i say, giving him a slight smile as he was called over by a few fans.
after he took photos with them, we made our way to the taxi which was waiting for us, and began the drive back to the hotel.
"oh i forgot to say, but im meeting jules at the gym at 7." 30 extra minutes i can work out before jules gets there.
"really? that's quick, doesn't he usually stay longer?"
"he stayed late last night, he was getting ready to leave when i was." i explain.
"ohh right, you might see lando there. you could talk to him."
"lando prefers going in the morning."
"okay, have you seen kimi today?"
"actually, no. i haven't seen him at all. did you see him?"
"no, that's why i asked. when your in the gym i'll go to his room."
"sounds fun." i say, resting my head on his shoulder before yawning.
"tired?"
"a little." i say. tired was an understatement, i was exhausted. i had no idea how i was going to get through the gym session. but i can't cancel, god no.
"why don't you just tell jules you don't feel like going?"
"no, no i'll be fine. i'll just rest a little before i go." i say, trying to keep my eyes open.
"baby, your half falling asleep." ollie says, placing his hand on top of mine.
"it's just the heat of the car, honestly i'm fine." i say, lifting my head up to sit up straight.
not even a few moments had passed, before ollie moves my head back onto his shoulder, resting his head on top of mine.
"when we get back to the room, your going to bed."
"what, no ollie i'm honestly fine. i'll only go for maybe an hour tonight."i protest.
"you won't be going at all. baby, your tired. you don't need to go to the gym. jules will understand, he would want you to sleep."
i do need to go to the gym, im fat. i'm ugly. ollie is clearly lying to me here, or else he is blind.
