As I laid carelessly on the leather couch, I was in deep thought. For the last few nights, I was engaged by somewhat odd dreams which included Chad. There wasn't anything provocative about them, it was more strange than anything else. As the bopping to the music died down, I could feel my eyes starting to flutter shut before a crooner styled beat started playing.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, Chad stepped out in front wearing a glistening suit jacket and a slicked back hairstyle, with a small strand of hair flopping against his forehead.
Finding this hilarious, I let out a little snicker as Chad looked over at me whilst standing on a massive stage, flashing a bright smile. As he began humming aloud, he made his way towards me and reached out to softly grasp my hand.
"Okay Chad, this is slowly starting to become lame. Could you please just drop the act already?" I said, laughing slightly between the sentence. He still ignored me as he bend forward and bent down to kiss my hand. I could feel myself blush as his eyes twinkled underneath the bright lights.
"You're such a sweetheart Chad, you've always been." I said before the facial expression on Chad changed to something rather serious.
"Carmen, wake up."
"Huh?"
"Carmen, Carmen. You've fallen asleep, hurry up and wake up." Chad's voice began to fade away as I found myself waking up and slowly opened my eyes to find Chad sitting right next to me on the couch. I stared at him in confusion and hid my face in embarrassment. I guess I must have taken a nap without even realising, whoops.
"Uh, hey babe. How? How long have you been sitting here?" I asked rather confused as he smiled and replied with long enough before he began mocking my sentence.
"You're such a sweetheart Chad, you've always been." He said in a girly voice. I gave him a slight tap on the shoulder before telling him a sharp 'shut up' and in obvious Chad behaviour, he pretended he was hurt by our little banter before I rolled my eyes jokingly. Just as he was about to react, my phone began buzzing as it sat on the table.
"Excuse me." I said as I picked up the phone and answered it to a gloomy sounding Ollie. I could feel my facial expression change to a frown as I turned to face Chad and quickly stood just out of the doorway.
"You just never seem to give up, do you?"
"Carmen, I miss you. That night you were at my house and I had you wrapped around my arm, it felt nice. I miss that, I miss our little moments together"
"I mean, I miss them too but I honestly don't know where we stand. I more than like you but you know I'm with somebody and that somebody is your teammate, your best friend. I don't think we should continue what we've done because we both know it's wrong."
"But I love you Carmen and I don't think I can hold it in any longer. I definitely know you feel the same way as I do but not continuing what we've done is also not necessarily right."
"Why do you make things so complicated? Okay, I'll just meet you somewhere because I cannot leave this hanging around anymore. How about I meet you at your hotel room later this afternoon?"
We both agreed on the final details and I hung up before Chad started becoming suspicious. I snuck in through the door and found Chad perched against the couch, patiently awaiting for my arrival.
"Who were you speaking to, anything new?" He said quite cheekily. I dismissed his question and went to sit next to him as I began hoping to myself that Ollie and I could sort this problem between the two of us. Chad soon distracted me from my thoughts as he began to speak.
