The warm rays of sunlight brushed against my face as I moaned, beginning to wonder what the time was. I blinked, yawning once more as I finally managed to fully open both my eyes.

With the events of last night still fresh in my mind, I felt my heart beat rapidly as I made my way out between the blankets, scrambling to place both feet upon the floor.

I felt rather lightheaded as I made my way to the bedside table and gently grasped my phone that was still on charge from last night, feeling my heart feel as if it had suddenly froze.

Looking at today's date, I let out a forced sigh. Today was the day of The Brownlow's. The one day in the year where all eyes were focused specially on individual players', where women dressed elegantly for everybody to gaze over their bold fashion choices and of course, the one night that everybody tunes in to see who wins the prestigious Brownlow medal.

Alright Carmen, remember this is Chad's night, you're just going to support him like any good girlfriend would, I thought to myself as I laughed in my mind at that last statement of mine.

I looked into the mirror and stared at my face which really didn't help anyone since I was feeling all the more superficial at the moment. I don't understand how girls could spend countless hours staring at their reflections when in reality, they couldn't see themselves without a little help for the mirror?

I forced myself to smile in the mirror. Nope. I smiled another way, this time not showing my teeth. Useless. This time I tried pouting since that was supposedly our most natural face but of course, I felt like this was a complete waste of time. I groaned in annoyance as I made my way out the door to where I saw Grace who was looking rather cheering this morning.

A huge grin formed upon her face as she said her goodbyes and hung up the phone before turning her attention to me, pausing and letting out a pitchy squeal.

"Grace, why are you screaming, you're going to wake up Chad?"

"Who cares about Chad, I swear that boy has an obsession with sleeping. You'll never believe who was on the phone?"

I raised my phone and shrugged my shoulders. It's like 7:00 in the morning and I was meant to take a lucky guess at who was calling Grace. How was I meant to know, Angus?

"I was on the phone with a representative for Katy Perry and apparently they saw my interview on TV and asked me if I wanted to design a dress for her upcoming Aria music award appearance."

"What, oh my goodness. That's incredible Grace, you're going to be working with the super talented Katy Perry. I'm so proud of you girl."

"Yeah but it's a little nerve wracking because Katy is super popular, not only just in Australia but also other parts of the world. She's got so many fans and people who work for her, I'm just worried that my design isn't going to be good enough for her."

"Hey. You're an incredible designer Grace and just remember that a huge official that WORKS for Katy Perry noticed you and specifically chose you for this task. I know you'll do brilliantly at the design, I believe in you Grace."

"Thank you Carmen, you've been really good to me for the past few weeks, I'm thankful to have known somebody like you. I know we've have our differences but I'm glad that we can put that in the past and move forward."

I smiled, agreeing with her as she continued squealing, buzzing with her excitement over the news that in a few months time, Katy Perry will be wearing a dress designed by her. I felt proud of Grace because she was one step closer to following her dreams. Chad slowly made his way to the living, stretching his arms upright as he questioned the squealing of Grace.
