I looked in the mirror and slipped on my maroon coloured dress as I glanced at my reflection. Deep down, I was still hurting after the affair scandal has broken out and the possibility that Chad might have already moved on.
It was silly that I was upset over his new girlfriend when I was dating Ollie but nothing seems to be a sure thing anymore. Ever since I dated Ollie, everything has felt like it was filled with ecstasy when I knew that wasn't the case. Although I was taken, it has felt like I was forcing to put on a show for myself, like I was trying to prove that I was made for Ollie.
I strapped on my black heels and curled my hair staring once again at my reflection. Everything seemed to be falling apart again when I had hoped my life would be properly put together; never had I been so wrong in my life.
With each thought racing through my mind, I had kept visualising the red headed girl that was all over Chad in that picture. Maybe Chad had actually moved on from me and that it was time for me to do the same, properly.
Sighing in defeat, I grabbed my handbag and slowly made my way down the stairs taking it one step at a time, to where I found Ollie awaiting for me down the staircase. I blushed as I could feel Tony and Jane's eyes set upon me as well as Ollie's.
"You look absolutely stunning babe." He stuttered as he slowly made his way towards me and gave me a kiss. Usually, I would have been filled with pure happiness, but for some reason today I felt absolutely empty.
He released from the kiss as I kept my expression blank. If it wasn't for supporting Ollie this afternoon at his brother's wedding, I surely wouldn't have been here. I felt uncomfortable with Ollie's parents looking at me but wanted to tough it out and act like I was interested in this afternoon's agenda.
I looked over at Ollie who was wearing a navy blue coloured suit and sported a matching coloured silky tie. I must admit that he looked good in a suit but the sight wasn't enough to distract me from my thoughts.
"Oh, can I take a picture of you two. It's just so beautiful to see you Carmen with my son and I just want to remember this moment." Jane asked as I shrugged my shoulders and felt Ollie place an arm around me as a cold shiver raced down my spine.
I moved away from his touch after Jane had given us the all the clear that she had taken the picture before we all headed out to the car and made our way to the venue where Jordan's wedding was being held.
During the car ride to the venue, I could feel my heart racing rapidly as I stared out the window and watched the trees pass us by. I kept thinking about the affair scandal and what it would mean for my future. I honestly hoped it didn't affect any future job opportunities I would receive later on.
Ollie sat next to me and I could tell he was concerned but right now, I wasn't in the mood to talk about how I was feeling. To have rumours floating around me was one thing, but to be dragged into a scandal was another; it's the worst feeling to have.
"Oh isn't this a beautiful day? My son Jordan is finally going to marry the girl of dreams and I'm sitting here in the car with my future daughter in law." Jane exclaimed excitedly as I rolled my eyes quite aggressively. Honestly, I was becoming sick of being called Ollie's future when right now I was struggling with my current relationships.
Looking over at Tony driving the car, he remained silent turning the corner. I then glanced over at Ollie who sat in the passenger seat next to him, seeing the sheer embarrassment and disappointment written all over his face.
