There was only one day remaining until the drafts were on and already I could tell Brayden was becoming extremely anxious about it. I didn't have to ask him about it, I could feel his body tense each time I made my way past him.

Right now, Brayden was out at a meeting about tomorrow's national draft which was a massive thing for everyone, Mum decided to stay back at the hotel to relax and Ollie went with Brayden to give him support at the meeting. I was pleased that he had a desire to give my brother support at a time that is rather stressful for him.

I sat in my seat, sipping on a warm cup of coffee scrolling through my Twitter feed. There was a whole lot of retweets about upcoming AFL awards and announcements coming up which I knew most about anyway.

I was about to exit from the app when I noticed I had a couple of notifications. I tapped on the button and saw a tweet that made my heart stop a beat.

There was a picture of Chad posing with a short girl that sported long orange hair and wore a bright yellow maxi dress. She kissed his cheek as his eyes were widened. Who was that girl that stood next to him? Why was see all of a sudden kissing his cheek? I locked my phone and nervously began drinking my coffee.

I felt insecure about seeing that picture. The thought of picturing Chad in the arms of another woman was absolutely heart-wrenching and right now, that me absolutely hate everything. I knew it felt stupid to be getting angry at Chad since I knew little about the girl but I never expected for my ex to be in another relationship and that's when I stopped for a moment.

I was currently doing the thing I hated Chad for; jumping into another relationship right after a break up. What right did I have to judge my ex after I ruined his life? Absolutely none.

Carmen, you're such a hypocrite. These words kept replaying in my mind as I continued thinking about Chad wrapping his arms around the new girl. Her fiery red hair was standing out in my mind as I imagined her forming a cheeky grin upon face.

I forced myself to brush off the negative thought as I shoved my phone in my pocket and tightly grasped the coffee cup as I begun making my way down the fairly quiet walkpath.

I tried my best to keep a positive mind frame but each time that girls annoying smile became stuck on my mind. I groaned in annoyance with myself as I decided to stroll up a little further from the hotel.

Looking around, I was somewhat amazed by how beautifully green and vibrant the plants were in Gold Coast. Whilst the heat was pretty unbearable at times, the environment around was actually really beautiful.

Taking in the sights of the Gold Coast, I looked out into the distance and stared at the beach as I watched the water glisten under the hot rays of sunlight.

My phone began to rang but in typical Carmen fashion, I done the obvious thing and ignored it hoping that if it was important, they'd ring back later before completely forgetting about the phonecall in the first place.

I turned on my heel and began to make my way back to the hotel when I stopped out the front of a small cafe that was fairly populated as my eyes trailed on one familiar face. The young man whom I met yesterday upon my arrival to Gold Coast, Kurt, was sitting quietly on his phone.

Should I go say hi or just walk away? There wouldn't be any way that Kurt would remember me from yesterday, would there? Just as I was about to move away, I forced myself to stop and make my way to Kurt. Walking up to his table, I looked down at him and smiled.

"Ah hey. You're the girl I met at the hotel the other day, aren't you? It's Carmen, right?"

"Yeah, it is." I replied as he gestured for me to take a seat next to him. Looking around the cafe, I noticed that everybody was busy being engaged in their own conversations. I took another glance at his features. The guy had a rather attractive looking jawline and his caramel coloured curls suited him really well. He slowly began to pull his seat in and smiled.
