Still thinking about my abrupt meeting with Chad, my mind rushed through a million different thoughts. I couldn't believe that I decided to chase after my ex knowing I wouldn't have gotten very far.

Sitting in the aircraft seat, I nervously tapped the armrest as I glanced around the airplane. Air hostesses made their way down the aisles presenting us with cool drinks, people began playing around with their headphones and already mum had begun crying tears of joy as I rolled my eyes.

I understood why she was getting emotional; Brayden was one step closer to becoming a footballer at the highest level of AFL and because of that, she could help but shed a river of tears.

Right now, I was awaiting for the plane to take off with Ollie, Brayden and mum sitting in the seats next to me. Since the national drafts were situated in Gold Coast, we were forced to take a flight to the venue which didn't really bother me, as I got to see another side of Australia that I personally didn't know.

"How long until the flight takes off?" Brayden asked calmly as I looked over Ollie to face him. I smiled responding to his question.

"Should be soon -"

"Good, because that tapping is beginning to annoy me so much Carmen. If you wouldn't mind, please stop that dreaded knocking." He cut me off as I frowned. The tapping was the only thing that seemed to distracting me so Brayden's demand was rather uncalled for, but of course I muttered an apology and sunk in my seat.

I looked down at the seat in front of me where I noticed a bright yellow card sticking out of navy blue seat pocket. I got a grip on it and slowly pulled it out as I paid careful detail to it.

It was a air safety manual. Immediately I sighed as Chad's soothing voice flooded through my mind. I remembered the moment when while everybody was busy talking with each other, Chad followed the instructions of the manual with the air hostess up the front of the aisle. I sighed once more before slipping it back into the pouch.

"Hey babe, you feeling alright." I looked up to face Ollie who seemed to look concerned as I forced a smirk upon my face.

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure everything will be alright." I responded as I watched a smile form upon before Ollie snuck in a quick peck upon my lips before moving back and feeling rather uncomfortable when my eyes trailed back onto the safety manual.

"So are you excited to be going to the Gold Coast?" Ollie asked after a moment of silence. I looked over at mum and Brayden, who seemed to be engaged in their own conversation.

"You do realise that this trip isn't really for me? This is really about Brayden, I'm just here to support him like any big sister would." I said with a laugh. Ollie raised an eyebrow before joining in with the laughs.

"But that doesn't mean we can't have any fun on our own Carmen. I mean c'mon, who'd pass up the offer to have fun at the Gold Coast? There's a lot of exciting things to do, themeparks, movie world, explore the town."

"You know, that doesn't sound like a bad idea Ollie, yeah. I wouldn't mind spending time with you exploring what Gold Coast has to offer but we're only here for a limited amount of time."

"Whatever, we can still find many ways to keep ourselves preoccupied Carmen. You know I don't care what we do, as long as your by my side." He replied as I smiled and turned my attention forward. I didn't realise how long we spent in our conversation because already the pilots' deep voice boomed on the speaker.

"Good morning ladies' and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking letting you know that the aircraft is know ready for take - off."
