VIOLET APPROACHED the cabin with a frustrated huff, grumbling protests under her breath at the situation she found herself in. Which is pretty much what she had been doing the whole journey there.

She briefly glanced up at the sky before making her way up the porch steps, pushing her tongue against her cheek in annoyance at the sight of the light fading away. The day was slowly coming to a close and she was wasting her time doing what? Helping Shauna out with a clearly lost cause?

She shouldn't have been here right now. She should've been back with the others. She should've been with Lottie.

Yet still, despite those thoughts, despite her wanting to go back. Why could she not stop walking? Why could she not just turn back?

With yet another grumble of a mixture of curse words under her breath, Violet opened the cabin door and stepped inside. She allowed her eyes to travel around the room, narrowed and questioning. Although when she gained no sight of Jackie or Travis, her gaze flicked up to the ceiling.

She paused for a moment, remaining silent and motionless as she listened out for any sign of them— her face scrunching slightly at the thought of potentially hearing something she really didn't want to— and that's when the faint sound of footsteps filled her ears.

They were in the attic.

Violet let out a slight breath of relief, silently thankful she didn't have to listen, or walk in on, Jackie's plan to lose her virginity in motion. Gross. So, in case that was about to change relatively soon, Violet decided not to dwell. And without another thought she made her way into the pantry.

The Crawford girl reached the ladders, however before she could climb up, she paused. Her head started to buzz once more, her vision distorting right before her eyes. Her hand flew up, gripping the bridge of her nose tightly as she let out a shaky breath.
