"Ready to leave this place baby?" Daniel asks Ayla who checks herself in the mirror for the tenth time.
Even though she isn't vain, her wound and partially shaved head is making her very self conscious.
With a little help from Amy, they managed to cover most of it with the rest of her hair, but it's the first time she will be going out in public like this and she's very nervous about it.
The wound is healing well, but the sutures need to stay in for a little bit longer. It's been a week since David attacked her and she is now being discharged from the hospital.
They haven't really told her about what actually happened. She knows she fell and hit her head, but she doesn't know it was because of her rapist. She doesn't need that extra stress and trauma right now. Her amnesia is still very much there, even though everybody who came to see her has been telling her stories about her life.
Amy showed up the Wednesday after the attack, together with Sam. It was an emotional reunion of the two best friends, but it was good for Ayla to talk to Amy.
When Sam was invited in, Ayla was completely star struck, which gave her a sudden stutter and she was even more aware of her looks.
Sam was amazing with her and he calmed her nerves with his relaxed demeanor.
Amy then told Ayla that she is around famous F1 drivers every day and she had been since she was a baby. Famous people shouldn't make her nervous.
Which made sense, but this was Sam Heughan, or Jamie Fraser in Outlander. A man she has had some dirty dreams about when she started watching the show. Not that she will tell Daniel that, or maybe she has, she doesn't know.
It was nice to talk to Amy, she told her about their time in Amsterdam and the bar she worked in. Amy didn't tell her about all the men she brought home, she knows how awful Ayla feels about that now and she'd rather tell her about the good things than the bad.
Then Sam came with some mind blowing news for Ayla.
He told her about their barbecue at Christian's place and that she sang the theme song for Outlander. He had sent it to the producers who took forever to make up their minds.
Because the intro is now sang by Sinead O'Connor who had passed away, they weren't sure if they should replace that intro. But after hearing Ayla's version of it over and over again, they finally agreed that it would be good to have a new voice, even if Ayla wasn't a well known artist.
Of course Ayla had no recollection of that evening so when Sam told her about this amazing opportunity, she just started laughing.
It gave her a massive headache, but she couldn't stop. There was no way she could believe what he was saying. There was no way that she would be heard by millions of people, every time they watched the new seasons of Outlander.
"You don't have to do it any time soon. We are only just going to start filming and the title song can wait. So whenever you are ready, just let me know and I will arrange everything with the producers." Sam told her and she finally stopped laughing.
"You are serious?" She asked him to confirm.
"Dead serious. I know it took a long time before they finally chose you, but it's true. You'll be the new voice of Outlander." He nodded.
"But that's crazy. Why would they not go with a famous singer?"
"Because you are incredibly talented and you have an amazing voice, that's what they are looking for."
It took him another half an hour to finally convince her it wasn't a prank.
At least for this it didn't matter that she has amnesia. She knows the song by heart and she still knows how to play piano. That's something that comes naturally.
She's pretty sure, that as soon as she touches piano keys, that she will just start playing. She has been doing that since she was a little girl, thanks to her mother. So she could never forget how to play the piano.
