Tell me everything

"Amy?" Ayla says when she hears her friend pick up the phone on the other side of the line.
"Ayla! Oh my god girl, you're ok? They said you are in hospital and you were in an induced coma. But you sound very awake right now. How are you? Please tell me what happened." Amy is practically freaking out over the phone.

She got a call from Robert, who told her about Ayla being in hospital and she was beyond worried about her best friend.
She wanted to catch the first flight out but they were just filming some final scenes of the movie so she couldn't leave. The movie was supposed to take a lot longer to schoot, but they made such great progress that they managed to finish filming in record time and now it will need to be edited and they will have to come back a few times to do some extra dialogue recording, but other than that they are done.

"I...I don't really know. I'm not really ok. They told me I've been sleeping for the last two days and I have no idea what happened. I hit my head pretty hard." Ayla says, happy to hear a familiar voice.
"Fuck! Well Sam and I are at the airport, we're coming to you. You can tell me everything when I get there. At least you're still alive."

Ayla almost starts to cry again. This is typical Amy. Dropping everything to come to her when she needs her.
"So it's true. You are really dating Sam... Outlander Sam?" She asks, trying to sound as relaxed as possible.

"Ha ha very funny." Amy pretends to laugh.
"Hm.. yeah.. funny. I have to tell you something."
"What is it? Did they find out you were knocked up while you were sleeping beauty?" Amy jokes.
Ayla gasps, did they? No, nobody said anything about that. Besides she thinks she's on birth control. At least she was ten years ago.

But what if she and Daniel are at that stage of life. It's 2022, which means she is 29 even though she thought she was 19 when she woke up.
She will have to ask Daniel about it.
It's so weird to think about him as her husband. Having no memory of a wedding or a relationship with him, makes it really hard to believe she's married.

"Girl, I was joking. So what do you need to tell me?" Amy's voice pulls Ayla out of the whirlwind of thoughts.
"Well... the thing is. When I woke up a few hours ago I thought it was the night after that F1 party back home. You know, when I came to you to get ready for it and I told you about my parents telling me my mom was sick?" Ayla tells Amy.

"Wait what? That was ten years ago. What do you mean? You thought it was 2012?" Amy sounds just as confused as Ayla feels.
"It means that I have no recollection of the last ten years. My entire memory seems to be erased. I didn't even know my mom.... That she is... that's she's gone." Ayla explains, sniffing when tears are again spilling from her eyes.

"Holy shit. You lost your memory? Fuck, that's horrible.... Wait! So you weren't joking when you asked if I was actually dating Sam? You really didn't know?"
Ayla shakes her head, forgetting Amy can't see her.
"I didn't. My dad just told me but I needed to hear you say it yourself. Everything is so fucked up Aims. One moment I am sneaking out of Daniel's hotel room and the next moment it's ten years later and I'm freaking married and I don't have a mom anymore. I just don't understand any of it."

"Oh sweetie. You know what, when I get there I will tell you everything you want to know. But yeah you're definitely married to Daniel and you are one of those romcom couples who are too perfect and almost sickening with how much the two of you love each other."
Ayla smiles through her tears.
Leave it to Amy to cheer her up.

Even though she doesn't remember it and she doesn't feel like she's so crazy in love with Daniel, it's quite nice to hear that apparently they really are crazy about each other. So she should be happy about that. At least she is with somebody who seems to love her. That's all she ever wanted.
