The day is promising to be a sunny one. A nice change from the rain they have had the last couple of days. Ayla feels lighter herself, as if a large cloud that has been blocking her view has finally cleared up. Maybe it is because Daniel is coming home today. Summer break has begun and he's going to be with Ayla for three weeks.
Ayla who is now in her last weeks of her pregnancy can't wait to hold her husband again. They have been apart for far too long now, but she hadn't been able to travel since she was around 34 weeks. She wanted to, but her midwife advised her not to. The baby had already dropped and was in position for birth. It caused some Braxton Hicks and walking around got a bit more difficult.
In the end she obviously doesn't want this baby to be born on a plane somewhere or in a different country and she also felt the need to get everything sorted at the farm house. It did mean that she hasn't been with Daniel since the race in Austria and she has missed him more than anything.
It wasn't easy to be in touch with him because of the time difference, but she wasn't able to sleep much at night anyways so they made it work. The baby always becomes very active when Ayla is trying to sleep and even though she loves feeling their bub moving around inside her, she lost many hours of sleep because of it.
There wasn't enough time between races for Daniel to fly all the way to Perth, so she had some regrets that she didn't just stay in the UK or Monaco. But being in Perth felt more at home and she knew she was exactly where she wanted to be.
Here she was with Daniel's family who helped her get the nursery finished. They didn't have much time to get that started before the season began, but she and Daniel did choose what they wanted it to look like and they ordered the furniture between races. Grace and Joe made sure they were there when the furniture arrived.
Then when Ayla got back home, they went shopping for paint and wallpaper and Ayla built the crib and changing table together with Joe. He did the paint work and with Grace he did the wallpaper. For Ayla that became a bit too difficult even though she really wanted to do it. Her body just said no which forced her to accept the help from Daniel's parents.
In the end the room turned out exactly like they wanted. They chose an ocean theme with one wall looking like the ocean with some waves and 3D starfish, clouds and coral. The rest of the room has a neutral, soft color scheme.

There's a lot of blue, but they still feel this room could work just as well for a girl. Their baby's gender will be a surprise until birth which they both preferred.
Daniel has been shopping for baby clothes in almost every country he went to for races. Sometimes he had to order online because it's impossible for him to just go out and go shopping in most countries. But at least he made sure the wardrobe of the little one will be filled to the brim. Ayla had also gone shopping with Michelle and Grace, they now have everything they might need.
