Where do broken hearts go?

"Well here we go, back to real life." Ayla sighs when Daniel parks the rental car in the designated parking area for the drivers and team members.
They arrived in Spa yesterday and even though the area is beautiful, Ayla can't shake the feeling of missing their little paradise in the Maldives.

When they arrived back in the UK, they first went to see Christian and Geri to tell them the news of their marriage. They both decided not to post anything about it on their social media. People will figure it out soon enough when they are seen wearing their rings.

Geri was of course over the moon, she hugged the both of them so hard they could barely breathe. It's the exact reaction Ayla's mother would have given them as well.
Christian shook Daniel's hand very formal, acting all serious.
"You better take good care of this girl Daniel. She's like a daughter to me and if you break her heart, you'll have me to deal with."

Ayla shook her head, Christian isn't exactly an imposing man, but it's nice to have him in her corner.
"I wouldn't even dare. Not because I'm afraid of you, I think Ayla would be a lot more dangerous. But I would also have to deal with my parents and I think they would ditch me and choose Ayla." Daniel laughed.

Christian pulled a face as if he was saying 'that is probably true' and then they all enjoyed a glass of champagne to celebrate.

Later, when they were back in Ayla's cottage, Daniel noticed that she had fallen quiet. She seemed very lost in her own thoughts.
"What's up baby? You know you can talk to me right?" He asked her.

"I know. It's just... the way Christian reacted... my dad would have reacted like that when he was still his old self. Right now... I don't really know what he would say. I mean, he doesn't even know it and I wonder if he would even care." She explained with so much sadness in her eyes that it broke Daniel's heart.

Her father is missing out on so much amazing time with his daughter and it's obvious that it is very painful for her. She acts tough and as if it doesn't bother her that much, but deep inside, her heart hasn't completely healed from everything that happened between them.

She seemed to just shrug it off only minutes later and they spent the night watching a movie with a nice glass of wine.
The next day Amy came over for a quick visit to celebrate the wedding. She brought the most ridiculous, set of lingerie. It was barely covering any skin so Ayla isn't sure if she will ever even wear it.

Amy and Sam are still doing very well, exploring their relationship in the spotlights, because it's impossible for them to keep it a secret. Amy told Ayla that it's really nice to be in a relationship with somebody like Sam who is more mature and knows what he wants.
Also, he knows what he's doing in the bedroom which has surprised Amy in more than one way.

She didn't have time to stay long as they were still shooting the movie, but it was good to see each other. Amy told Ayla that Sam hadn't heard from the producers from Outlander yet about the video of Ayla singing. But Amy is still convinced they will eventually give Ayla that opportunity.

The following days they both began to prepare for the second half of the season. Daniel really picked up his work out routine with Michael and Ayla got up to date on all the latest news from the team. She had meetings with her social media team, except for Tina who was visiting her parents.

They came up with ideas for videos they could shoot with Max and Checo.
There will be a video of Max driving around Zandvoort on the sim, blindfolded. And Checo will have to give him directions on where to go.

Ayla doubts Max will need a lot of directions, he knows most of the circuits by heart and she even thinks he could drive them blindfolded in an actual car and not crash.
