"Ayla, hi."
Ayla just stares at him, all sorts of emotions rushing through her.
She feels anger for the things he said to her, sadness that she hasn't been able to lean on him when times were rough, there's even a flicker of happiness that he is here, but that is soon pushed away. She doesn't want to be happy to see him.
He treated her like shit and he doesn't deserve her to be happy to see him.
"What are you doing here?" She asks him, a cold tone in her voice.
"I..I ehm, I wanted to see you." He softly says.
"Really? After all this time you suddenly want to see me? What if I don't want to see you?"
She crosses her arms under her chest and looks at him with fire shooting from her silvery eyes.
"I wouldn't blame you if you don't. I'm just asking for a few minutes to talk to you."
Her father looks better than he did the last time she saw him.
He gained some weight, his beard is neatly trimmed and he had a haircut.
His clothes are clean and look new. It's like he is more the man he was before her mother got sick.
"Please Ayla. Will you hear me out?" He pleads.
"Not if you're going to insult me again, or do you prefer to hit me again? Because if that's your intention, please leave."
He flinches when her words hit him, but she doesn't feel bad. He deserves to feel what he did to her. His betrayal has been one of the most painful things she had to go through. Especially it being right after her mother passed away. He won't get away with that without him realizing how much it hurt.
"I deserve that. I swear I only need a few minutes of your time. There's some things that you deserve to hear and after that you can decide if you want to kick me out or not." Robert looks almost desperate. He really wants his daughter to listen to him, but he also understands she doesn't really want to.
It's good to see her again, she looks amazing, before she saw him he could tell she seemed happy, her eyes were sparkling and she was relaxed.
That changed when she laid eyes on him and he gets that. He messed up majorly, but he hopes she will listen to his apology.
"Fine, you have five minutes."
She steps aside and allows him to walk into the room.
"Ayla, baby, what's taking so long...." Daniel walks out of the lounge area and sees who just came into the room.
His eyes immediately turn darker with the anger he feels.
"What the fuck are you doing here?" He spits out.
"He has five minutes to say what he has to say and then he's leaving again." Ayla tells Daniel who is struggling not to punch Robert in the face.
"I'm sorry to interrupt. I just wanted to talk to my daughter. And you, I should have known you were here. I've seen plenty of pictures of you together." Robert dares to smile a little.
"Yeah well, I remember a time where you wanted me as far away from Ayla as possible. I even had a black eye to prove it." Daniel says, still angry about Robert showing up after all he did.
Robert looks down at his feet, seemingly embarrassed by his actions.
"That was very wrong and I'm very sorry about that. I don't have an excuse, only that I wasn't myself, but still, I shouldn't have done that. I hope you'll accept my apology."
Both Ayla and Daniel stare at each other in shock. They didn't expect to hear this. They thought he would be here to make problems again, yet now he's apologizing for punching Daniel and he looks sincere.
"I've made many mistakes in my life and unfortunately others suffered from those mistakes. One of them was treating you like that Daniel. You didn't deserve that at all." Robert tells him.
"Ehm ok. Well... thanks I guess. But I'm not the one you should beg for forgiveness though." Daniel says and Robert nods.
