Lando shakes his head when he looks at his girlfriend who is sitting in the windowsill, just staring outside. In the streets there's plenty of life, people walking around, going out to start their Christmas shopping.
Just daily life going on as usual.
But inside his apartment the air is heavy, filled with tension and sadness.
It has been like that ever since they got back from Abu Dhabi.
There, Tina had to take extreme measures to save her best friend, but for somebody who is the least violent person there is, that weighs heavy on her.
She doesn't regret taking action, she knew she had to do something, because David was choking the life out of Ayla.
But she has nightmares about the sound that filled her ears when the metal hit David's skull.
She can still feel the moment when the pole cracked his skull open like it was nothing more than an egg.
It makes her feel nauseous, because it's nothing she has ever felt or heard before and she hopes she never will again.
And if that wasn't bad enough, her whacking him around the head, caused him to push Ayla away. That was when Ayla hit her head and fell to the ground like a ragdoll. Her blood stained the concrete behind the McLaren building and Tina really believed her actions just cost Ayla her life.
Once they got to the hospital she learned Ayla was alive but suffered head trauma.
Tina wanted to tell the police everything, but Robert stopped her. He took the blame for her which is now adding to the tremendous amount of guilt she is feeling.
All she wanted to do was to help her friend. Just like Ayla did for her when Tina was in trouble. But it seems she only made things worse for several people around her.
When Ayla woke up, Tina couldn't wait to go see her friend. To tell her how sorry she was that her actions got her hurt. But then Daniel told her Ayla had no memory of the last ten years, which means she doesn't remember ever meeting Tina. She doesn't even know the young, Slovenian woman exists.
Hearing that pushed her into a dark hole and she hasn't been able to crawl out of it. No matter how much Lando tries to convince her none of it is her fault. He tries to cook her nice food, but she barely touches it.
He really does his best, but she is stuck in her guilt and pain, nothing he does works.
All she wanted to do was to make things right again, yet she only caused more pain and suffering.
"Tina, my love, please eat something. You'll make yourself sick like this." Lando pleads with his girlfriend.
She barely looks his way and shakes her head.
"I'm not hungry."
"You do know it's not your fault right? You did the right thing. You said it yourself, he was strangling her. If you didn't stop him, she could have been dead now." Lando repeats the same things he has said over and over these last days.
"I'm the reason she got into trouble with him in the first place.. if I didn't call her, that time in Jeddah, she wouldn't have come to help me out and he wouldn't have put his hands on her there."
She swallows.
"Maybe it's for the best if she won't remember everything. It's the second time I was the reason she got hurt. I'm dangerous for her."
Lando wants to interrupt, but she raises her hand to silence him.
"Yes, I know, this time I knocked him out to save her life, but with that I caused her a head injury and amnesia. I may have killed someone at the same time. He's not dead yet, but apparently he's nothing more than a vegetable, so he might as well be dead."
Lando decides to sit in the windowsill next to her. He puts the plate with the sandwich he made on the table and joins her as she looks out the window.
"This guy deserves everything he gets. He almost killed Ayla, he probably wanted to rape you in Jeddah and then ended up hurting Ayla."
