Starting something new

Ayla waits at the conveyor belt for her suitcase to come out. She just arrived at London Luton airport where Christian will come to pick her up.
He sent her a ticket, but it wasn't a return ticket, so with her not knowing how long she would be staying she had to pack a lot more than what she would have if it was only for the holidays.

Christian has been in touch with her over the last week since she called him and he has made her all excited about her new job. She is still nervous about getting back in the F1 world after being pretty much gone for eight and a half years. There's some guys who have left as well. Fernando did, but he came back. There's a lot of new faces she doesn't even know from F2, but she is happy there's still plenty of familiar faces like Lewis, Seb and some others. And not to mention Daniel.

There's nobody she is more familiar with than Daniel of course. They know each other on a whole different level. But that won't be happening anymore now he has a girlfriend.

Amy was so happy when Ayla told her she would be staying at the Horner house for Christmas. At least now she was reassured that Ayla wouldn't be all alone for the first time since her mom passed away.

Finally her suitcase is coming her way and she grabs it as soon as it's in front of her.
After pulling out the handle she can pull it behind her, at least now she won't have to carry it around.
She finds her way to the exit of the arrivals hall and when she goes through the door she looks around to see if she can find anybody who looks familiar.

Suddenly she sees Christian's face pop up from behind a very tall man in front of him. It looks kind of funny as Christian isn't exactly a tall guy.
He waves at her and she quickly makes her way to him. It's crazy that he is here, he is so well known that he could be recognized very easily.

He is wearing some sort of baret and a pair of sunglasses which makes him a bit less recognizable. But she knows it's him, she has known him for so long she would even recognize him even if he would be in full drag.

"Ayla I'm so glad you are here. I almost didn't recognize you with your hair. What happened to the blonde?" He asks her pulling on a strand of her black and rainbow colored hair.
"I needed something different. I like it. Does it matter for the job?" She asks him.
"No of course not. It's your choice what you want to do with your hair. How was the flight? Give me your suitcase, the car is outside." Christian takes her suitcase from her and she follows him to the exit of the airport.

"The flight was fine. Very short." She smiles. It was practically going up and straight down again, being only one hour from Amsterdam to here.
"It is isn't it? Oh god you have no idea how pleased I am to finally see you again. I was so relieved when you called me. Everybody has been so worried about you. Especially when we tried to contact you but your number didn't work anymore."

They reach the expensive looking Range Rover and Christian unlocks it.
"Get in it's freezing." He says as he puts her suitcase in the back of the car.
Ayla climbs in feeling absolutely guilt ridden after hearing people were worried about her.

Was she really that selfish? How could she not realize that there were people who cared about her and who wanted to know how she was doing? She was just so caught in her grief and anger about her fathers actions that she shut everybody out except for Amy. She shouldn't have left it so long, she should have reached out sooner.

Christian gets in and presses a button to start the car.
"I'm really sorry Christian. I was so messed up that I threw my phone in a canal and got a new one with a new number. I should have been more considerate about others." She says apologetic.
"Don't worry. I managed to talk to your dad at one point and he said your friend's mother told him you were fine. But I didn't see much of him after that. And then I heard he quit, so I haven't spoken to him since then."
