I couldn't shake off the feeling that Adrian was hiding something from me. His evasive answers and mysterious phone calls had me on edge. I decided to take matters into my own hands, to uncover the truth behind his secrets.

My heart raced as I snooped around the penthouse, searching for any clues that might lead me to the truth. I scrolled through his phone records, his email, and even his browser history. But everything seemed normal, and I couldn't find anything that would suggest he was involved in anything shady.

Just as I was about to give up, I stumbled upon a crumpled piece of paper in his desk drawer. It was a receipt from a company I had never heard of, with a large sum of money listed as the payment amount. My pulse quickened as I realized this might be the clue I was looking for.

I decided to investigate further, my fingers flying across the keyboard as I researched the company online. But as I dug deeper, I realized that the company didn't exist. At least, not on paper.

Frustration simmered beneath my skin, but I refused to back down. I knew I had to get to the bottom of this, no matter what it took.

Just as I was about to continue my investigation, I heard a noise behind me. I spun around to see Adrian standing in the doorway, a look of surprise on his face.

"What are you doing?" he asked, his voice firm but controlled.

I hesitated, unsure of how to respond. I didn't want to accuse him of anything, but I couldn't just pretend like I wasn't snooping around.

"I was just looking for some papers," I said finally, trying to sound nonchalant.

Adrian raised an eyebrow. "What papers?"

I shrugged, trying to play it cool. "Just some documents for the party."

Adrian nodded, but I could tell he didn't believe me. He walked over to the desk and saw the receipt lying on the surface.

"What's this?" he asked, his voice low and menacing. I felt a shiver run down my spine as I realized I had been caught.

"I found it in your desk drawer," I said, my voice firm. "What is it?"

Adrian sighed, running a hand through his hair. "It's just a business deal, baby. Don't worry about it."

But I wasn't convinced. I knew he was hiding something, and I was determined to find out what it was.

"Adrian, I need to know what's going on," I said, my voice firm. "I need to know what you're involved in."

Adrian looked at me, his eyes searching. For a moment, I thought I saw a glimmer of fear in his eyes. But then, he masked it with a charming smile.

"I told you, baby. It's just business. Don't worry about it."

But I wasn't buying it. I knew he was hiding something, and I was determined to find out what it was.

I felt a surge of frustration as Adrian continued to evade my questions. I knew he was hiding something, and I was determined to find out what it was.

"Adrian, please," I said, my voice shaking. "Just tell me what's going on. You're distant, you're evasive...you're not even looking at me anymore."

Adrian sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Baby, I'm telling you the truth. It's just business. Don't worry about it."

"Tomorrow is our wedding," he said, his voice softening. "You told me to keep it low, but your brother had to invite everyone. Now that every effort is going to be successful, why are you making a scene out of nowhere, baby? I know you have so many questions in that pretty little head of yours, but can we talk about this after the wedding? I'm too tired."

He came close and pecked my lips, and for a moment, I let my guard down. But as I looked into his eyes, I saw the same evasiveness, the same secrets lurking beneath the surface.

I was worried. I was worried that I was losing him, that he was slipping away from me and I couldn't do anything to stop it.

Suddenly, we heard a knock on the door. I opened the door to see Aashu and Myra standing there with a smirk on each of their faces. Aashu grabbed my hand while Myra pushed past me and went to Adrian.

"Listen, I know we both don't get along so well, but I have to accept you as my brother-in-law, just because my baby loves you. So, don't even dare to break her heart, okay?", Myra said making me and Aashu chuckle silently.

Adrian smirked and took one step closer to Myra, "Oh, I dislike you too! But I love your soul sister, so no worries; you won't have a reason to complain about that."

"Anyways, why did u guys plan on barging in our room at midnight, my sweet little sister-in-laws?", he tried to sound sweet but I could understand how irritated he was. I chuckled to myself but the thought kept eating up my mind.

"We have come here to take our girl with us. Anyways, from tomorrow she will be officially yours so you can have your private moments with her later", Myra grinned.

"She was always mine! And fyi, I don't need both of your permission to let her stay with me", he said.

"Aww, so rude of you! I thought we have bonded, but seems like we didn't", she commented sarcastically.

"No we didn't and we will never", he groaned.

"STOP IT", I yelled making both of them stop their little argument. "You both go to your room, I'll come after five minutes. I need to talk to him a bit", I said making them leave forcefully.

"Look I need some alone time. I'm too much paranoid about the whole situation. So I'll stay with them tonight. This is my last night before our wedding ritual starts. I hope you understand", I said but before I could finish, his large hands grabbed my cheeks and he pulled me into a forceful kiss.

It was passionate, way more than I could ever express it with words.

The kiss was like a powerful wave that swept over her, drawing me in and refused to let go. His hands gripped my face firmly yet softly, and his lips crushed against mine with such desire that she gasped.

The kiss was fierce and passionate, as if he was attempting to devour me completely. At the same time, it was smooth and delicate, as if he was enjoying every second. It was a combination of rough and smooth, harsh and soft, that made me feel weak and shudder.

As they kissed, everything else melted away, leaving just the contact of our lips, the beat of our hearts, and the rush of our breath.

"No, I don't understand and I never will. Why do you think that leaving me is the solution to all the problems?"
