It was only about an hour since Adrian left that Myra came back. I couldn't keep things to myself, atleast from her. I told her everything. She asked me to go back to my father's house once to refresh my mind, so I decided to go there the next day. Dad's house was just thirty minutes from mine by car.

*********************************************

Next day, I went there by ten in the morning. I wanted to stay there for a bit. I was greeted by my second mother, Alice Wilson. I don't consider my biological mother as my mother. Alice tries to cover up my mother's space in my heart.

"Good morning, sweetheart. You have been away for so many days. You stopped missing your aunt, huh?", she nagged and I chuckled.

"Not at all, aunt. It's just that so many things are going on that I couldn't find any time to come back. Now if you don't want me to die out of thirst, can I get some water?", I pouted and she smiled to me. She bought me a glass of water.

"So, I want to know about your new business partner!", she said and I narrowed my eyes to her.

"Who told you that now?"

"I have my ways", she smirked.

"Let me guess. It's Myra, right?", and she chuckled. I knew that this idiot couldn't keep anything to herself so she ended up telling aunt about Adrian.

Suddenly a notification came. It was a text from Adrian which said, "Why aren't you here yet?"

I took my phone and texted back, "I won't be coming today"

He texted back, "Why? Are you fine? What happened?" and before I could reply anything to him, Aunt snatched my phone away from me, "This is your new business partner, huh?"

Thank god, that dp was one of his aesthetic picture which didn't have his face so she couldn't tease me properly.

"Arrogant Salvatore?", she questioned and I nodded in an obvious manner. That was what I had saved his name with.

I mean who wouldn't call him arrogant. The first impression that I had on him made me want to slap him. But now that I think about that day, I can't help but laugh to myself. I never knew that the same person would make me fall for him. That arrogant idiot would be the person; I wait for, after a long day of work. He's like the peace that people wants from nature, away from these bustling cities. Whenever he comes infront of me, everything seems to calm down. My problems seem to disappear infront of him. It's like my life has ninety-nine problems, and that one solution to all my problems is him.

"Is he handsome?", aunt asked and I couldn't help but chuckle. Now that I think about it, he is handsome. The best looking man I have ever met.

"I think so", I ended up saying and I knew that was it. I was going to be damned for what I said.

The same thing happened. She started nagging about showing her a picture of him. She wanted to see how her future son-in-law looked like.

Future son-in-law? She's running faster than a bullet train, I guess.

I ended up showing her a picture of him, but inspite of reacting in the way I thought, her eyes widened. She looked at me as if I made her watch some spooky videos at three in the morning. I swear, her face looked like someone was killed infront of her.

"He......He....Is he your business partner?", she stammered. I have never seen her stammering in the last fifteen years.

"Yes", I nodded and she sat back on the sofa.

"What happened?", I asked. I was trying to control the situation that was going out of hand and that too for some unknown reason.

"Can you just show him to me once more?", she begged and I took out one of his pictures and showed it to her. She wasn't reacting normally. Her reactions were as if a long-buried wound had suddenly opened up due to this picture.

I brought her some water, and she started crying. She was reacting not in a very normal way. Her cries seemed to be the one of a trauma. I hugged her while tears soaked my cheeks. I have this habit of not being able to see someone crying so I ended up crying with her.

After quite some time, I finally succeeded in calming her down a little. My father was not at home so I had to manage the situation.

"Now I want you to tell me the whole situation. I can't see you crying for unknown reasons", I complained.

"It's the story of the situation that your father saved me from", I nodded, trying to get into the story.

"I was Mrs. Alice Amerigo Salvatore. Amerigo and I were quite happy together. He was some kind of businessman. I never tried to know what his job was, and he never told me about it. Years passed and we had a child. We tried to combine our names and ended up giving his name as Adrian Salvatore", the moment she said this, I started to feel numb.

Adrian? Son of Aunt Alice?

She continued,

"Adrian was a very happy kid until one day he saw his grandfather die in his father's hands. Amerigo shot his father to become the owner of the property. I couldn't believe that the man I loved for so many years ended up being a criminal. I went back to my room and started reflecting back on my life. It wasn't easy to think that the choice that I made several years back was a wrong choice. I thought of leaving him. That night when everyone was asleep, I called Adrian and we tried to elope but ended up getting caught by Amerigo. I was frustrated with everything and when he asked where I was going, I ended up saying that I wanted divorce. Amerigo's eyes turned dark as if a storm was waiting for me. He pushed Adrian aside and pulled me into his room and forced himself on me. After he was satisfied with my body, he pulled me out of that mansion and shot me on the main road. As the pain started absorbing my whole body, I passed out. After few weeks I woke up on a hospital bed, where your father admitted me after he found me laying half-dead on the main road. Then we got engaged after few years."

I was dumbstruck. Tears soaked my cheeks. I always thought what I have gone through was simply impossible for someone to go through but now I know that life can be a lot better for someone while the worst for many.

"Did Adrian watch all of these?", I asked curiously.

"Yes. Amerigo did everything infront of Adrian to make him understand that no one can leave him but he can leave others when he wanted to."

"Why didn't Adrian try to contact you?"

"He probably thinks I'm dead. I believe everyone thinks that and that's the reason I keep a low profile and ask you not to mention my name in any interviews", she exclaimed.

"I should tell him about you", I said.

"No, you can't. I have kept a low profile for a reason. My life, your father's life, your life, everything would be at stake if anyone gets to know this", she said in fear-filled tone.

"But he will support you, right? He isn't like his father, right?", I said and aunt nodded in sorrow. I felt guilty of being between both of them and not being able to make them meet each other.

I'll have to find a way out, to make them meet, so that no one gets to know about her.
