Chapter 36

((Rin's POV))

"Damn! This is taking forever!" I yelled in anger. "Seriously!"

"My feet are starting to hurt," Carter complained. "Can we just find Igor now?"

"I can carry you if you want," I barely heard Bon mumble to Carter.

When I glanced back at them I tried not to laugh at both of their red cheeks. Carter happily agreed, and soon Bon was carrying him bridal style.

Shiemi was walking next to me silently, with her little demon Nii on her shoulder. Of course my brain automatically thought about the break up. Great, I was thinking about it again! Awkwardly I bumped her with my elbow.

"Do you think we're going to be invited to the wedding?" I motioned to Carter and Bon behind us.

She just smiled and laughed a bit, but that was all. Now the situation was even more awkward.

I stopped dead in my tracks, and let out a sigh I didn't know I was holding.

That's it! I'm done!

"We aren't going to find him anywhere!" I made sure to yell as loud as I could.

"Rin, calm down. We just have to think this through," Carter said.

"Oh yeah? Where do you think he is?" I asked.

All he did was let out an agitated sigh. His eyes showed that he was tired. In fact, I think everyone just wanted to sleep at this point. My earlier wounds still were in a bit of pain now that I was focusing on them.

"I don't know. He definitely won't be in the last place where we last fought him. Isn't that all we know at this point?"

After Carter's words there was silence. No one dared to speak as we all stood there. I just nodded.

"Alright... Anyone got any ideas on where to check at least?"
That's when Shiemi raised her hand slowly, all eyes falling on her.

"We could check the Cram School," she whispered in fear.

All of us exchanged looks. Was that all of a bad idea? It's at least a place to start looking. We all agreed, and Shiemi automatically smiled.

"Alright. Let's go kick some ass."

We all raced inside the dark school building. Everything was silent. Only our footsteps echoed down the empty hallway.

"Well, looks like we have to check somewhere else," Carter said as Bon put him down.

"Shh! Listen," Shiemi said.

I started to listen to what she was pointing out. All of us were quiet, and that's when I heard the faint sound of a crash. Of course we couldn't tell which direction it came from since everything echoed here. Frantically I turned to everyone.

"Split up. Carter and Bon go that way. Shiemi and I will head this way. If you see him scream... Um.."

"Scream what?!" Bon snapped.

"Uh, Pineapple! Now go!"

I grabbed Shiemi's hand and started to run in the opposite direction of the other two.

We were going to find Igor no matter what, even if that crash wasn't caused by him at all.
We won't give up!

Together we turned down the hallway and came to a quick halt. I tried to listen if I could hear the code word, or even Igor moving again.
