((Em's POV))

"If you mix the ivy mixture with demon blood, you get extreme poison. It can burn human skin badly and even kill them...."
I didn't hear much after that. No offense to Yukio, but he was a boring teacher. Maybe if I doodled for a bit, it wouldn't change anything...
After all it is only one day of drawing...
"Emrel... Emrel!"
"Huh?!"
I threw my pencil through the air from his stern voice.
"What should you never do with this mixture?"
He held up the vial up. That wasn't the ivy and blood mixture... I had no idea what it was!
"Uhh...."
"Next time, pay attention."
During the rest of the class session I felt bad about myself. How could I let myself not pay attention like that. How much time had passed since I stopped listening?!
Suddenly the bell rang, letting everyone leave. I got up quickly, but was stopped by someone. God, it better not be Yukio....
"Hey, it happens to all of us.."
My green eyes fell on the blue green ones staring at me. Those eyes... They seemed unnatural.
"Yeah..." I mumbled. I had trouble making friends at first. In fact I had none at the moment...
"The names Rin," the boy said with a smirk. His fang teeth were extra long, making him look like he literally had vampire sucking abilities.
"I'm Em..."
"Sweet!"
"Yeah..."
I just wanted this guy to leave me alone. I think he got that vibe when he let go of my shoulder.
"Want to go eat some lunch together?" He asked with a smile.
A loud sigh escaped my lips as I looked away.
"Actually I can't afford anything in the cafeteria... It's too expensive for me."
"That's okay, I can't either. I actually made an extra lunch because I wanted to talk to you."
My face formed a smile. No one had gone all out to make me something without knowing me.
"Yeah.. Sure."
"Awesome! Let's go!"
We walked out of the classroom. The big, goofy smile was still on my face.
Friends... Maybe he could be one.

"So you want to become a Aria?"
I nodded slowly, to busy with trying to get to work these chopsticks right. He laughed a bit.
"You having trouble?"
"Yeah, I always have ever since I was a kid."
Rin nodded.
"Chopsticks aren't my favorite, but after the years I got used to it."
Suddenly he started to stuff his mouth with rice, making me laugh a little. Maybe I was warming up to him a bit...
"This is good by the way," I said still laughing.
He swallowed all the small grain before replying back.
"Thanks. Let's get back to the topic though. You want to be an Aria."
I nodded, and plopped some fatty tuna in my mouth.
"Not many of the newcomers come here wanting to be one. They all usually want to be a tamer, but not everyone can be one. It runs in the family."
"I never understood what a tamer is. Can you tell me?"
"A tamer is what my girlfriend specializes in. It depends on what your personality is like with your demon you summon. Hers in a nature sprit I think.."
A loud squeal escaped my mouth, making him confused.
"You gave a girlfriend!!! That's so kawaii!!"
Rin laughed a bit.
"Yeah. I think you've seen her. She's the girl I sit next to in the front in Yukio's class."
I nodded.
"The girl with short blonde hair. She seems nice."
A dreamy smile formed on his face.
"The sweetest as they come. Hey, maybe you will get a boyfriend soon!"
I laughed again as I stood from sitting on a bench.
"Probably not. Hey, I'll see you in class."
"Alright! See you there!"
That grin came back to my face. Maybe, just maybe, we would be best friends.
