Blue Exorcist: New Life

Chapter 15

((Em's POV))

Apparently the whole class was going on a mission today. Vicky even gets to go! Hopefully all that memorizing through the years get me somewhere!
"Did your fiend get her sword?"
"Yeah, Bon's friend made it for her. Why are you so interested."
The old man just chuckled.
"I'm just glad you have someone you know well with you."
I slipped in my black shoes, and opened the shrine door.
"Bye old man!"
I closed the shrine door behind me when I heard him say bye back. Today was going to be a better day than the rest.

When I got to school, all the students in first period were getting ready. Bon and the guys were going over some stuff that they think they might need for battle, and Shiemi had Nii by her side. Vicky ran up to me.
"I got the sword. It's specially just to kill demons."
"I'm glad you finally have it."
"Yep! And we are going on a mission today."
Suddenly everyone went silent when Yukio walked in the room.
"Everyone please be quite."
He didn't have to say it twice since we were. He cleared his throat.
"Today we are going to go exercise a demon. It has destroyed a lot of the forest. It's not the kind of demon your thinking about. This one was a familiar. It was once homed to a shrine. Now, it has been corrupted. There's no point in saving it..."
When I looked around the room, I looked at Rin. He looked angry for
some reason.
"Any questions?"
No one spoke.
"Alright then, let's go."

Nervousness ran over me.
We were expected to do this all alone, without Mr.Okumera's help. That was challenging. I had my hand gun at my side in its holster. There was no fatal verses for framilers, so being an Aria wouldn't help on this mission. Still, the fast beating in my heart wouldn't go away. Vicky at my side looked prepared, with determination in her eyes. That's what's so awesome about her. She always was confident when it came to it. As we got to the scene, I was shocked.
"What the hell?! It's a giant panda!" Rin yelled.
An exorcist ran up to her.
"If things get bad, we will jump in. Right now, we thought this would be a perfect test."
Izumo quickly responded with, "it won't get out if hand."
She pulled out small pieces of magic circle paper, and dropped a bit of her blood on it. Everyone else got prepared after her lead. Vicky pulled out her knew katana demon sword.
Quickly I pulled out my gun. When I looked Izumos foxes were attacking it. We all kept on attacking the demon with all we had. Turns out, the demon was calming down as we attacked it. That was the strange part about it. I would have though it would have gotten angry.
"WAIT GUYS!!"
We all stopped when Rin ran in front of us.
"What the hell are you doing?!" Izumo yelled.
Rin carefully approached the panda. It was about to strike him, but he petted its soft arm.
"Your just mad at all the other animal picking on you. It's okay... I had kids call me mean names when I was little... You need to become stronger. Stronger than you already are."
The panda put it's other arm down, and listened carefully to Rin.
"You've been bad by destroying the forest. I want you to apologize!!!"
The panda started to shake a little.
"Well?! What do you have to say?!?!"
The gaunt fluffy panda started to cry. He carefully hugged the creature.
"It's okay. I want you to go help fix what you messed up."
I stood there in shock. How... How was he doing that?!"
The panda sat down, completely calm. Yukio stood beside me now.
"Great job everyone. You helped the demon calm down."
A smile formed on my face. Rin did most of the work. All of us did good, but in my heart I knew that this panda changed my thoughts on many different things.
