Chapter 44

So I decided to change it up in this chapter as you could see ;). I hope you all still like it though! The 4th of July just was my inspiration so here we go!

((Carter's POV))

The one time our whole friend group decides to hang out together and watch fireworks, Bon just has to be busy!

With what you may ask? Oh I don't know, he didn't have the guts to tell me or anyone else!

Am I mad? Ha, no. Of course not. That's just stupid to get mad about.

Together our group headed to the park where the fireworks were going to be shown. I looked ahead to see Em walking with Rin and smiled widely. I could see that Em was so happy to just be with him, and it was obvious to me that she had a huge crush on him.

Then I looked at Izumo and Sarah, and Paku decided to tag along. My smile turned into a frown at Izumo holding her girlfriends hand. A love triangle that seemed to never resolve the right way.

I went to look at Vicky, but I was hit with a sad reminder. Oh yeah, she's gone.

Or maybe not. Maybe there is some way to bring her back. A way I only know.

No one knew. Em and I didn't get the chance to talk yet about it.

But it probably wasn't real.

Just then Sarah came back to walk next to me, leaving the loving couple to walk ahead.

She wore a frown on her face, and of course that was never good.

"You okay?" I managed to ask her.

I could tell she was having a hard time responding to that. Her eyes were up ahead, probably making her even more upset.

"You want me to be honest here, or do you want me to tell you a happy little lie that will make you happy?"

"The truth."

She gave a shaky sigh as she stared at her walking feet below her.

"No. No I'm not. It just hurts, you know? I feel like I have more of a connection with her recently," she sighed.

"Well we don't know their story Sarah. I mean, I agree with you, but we only know Paku's name and not her story," I stated with a frown.

Sarah didn't speak for a while. She probably hated me, but I only spoke the truth.
Em and Vicky would have told her the truth as well.

Before I could speak to her again, Shiemi spoke ahead.

"Yay! We're here! Yuki, let's set down the picnic blanket!"

Yukio nodded, and soon everyone was helping out except for me and Sarah.

I turned back to look at her.

"Look, I know how it feels okay," I mumbled to her.

She looked at me again. Her eyes showed confusion and interest.

I decided to continue.

"You just want that perfect love. I even wanted it back in the day. But you know, you just want and wait for the other person to make a move. You don't want to share your feelings, you've already done that in the past. You want them to just, to just make the move themselves. You want the satisfaction of them sharing the same feelings as you"

When I looked back over at my friend she was actually wiping a tear from her eye.

"Well I already told her. So I guess I made the wrong choice."
