(Rin's POV))

"Sit down my boy. Have some green tea."
"T-Thank you sir."
I sat down on the small pillow. Right across the small table he sat down as well.
"Something seems to be troubling you. Mind telling me what's up?"
My eyes widened.
"How did you-"
"Emrel can't get anything past me."
I nodded, and sighed a bit.
"Well... My brother is badly wounded. He got scratched by a demon.
The old man nodded as he started to pour the tea.
"I see.... Em had a sister."
He handed me a glass, but I was more focused on the conversation.
"What do you mean by had?"
"Well... She died about 10 years ago."
"Oh.. I'm sorry to hear."
He took a drink of tea, then gently put it back down on the table. I started to gulp down the golden liquid as well.
"I'm surprised she didn't already tell you this. I thought since she had a friend over again you would know. Emrel's parents and sister died 10 years ago in an accident."
I started to cough at drinking it to fast. Her parents, dead?! And she never told me!
"Back up, your not her father?"
"No. She knew me from daily prayers, and weekly visits to get some food for her cat."
I stayed silent as he continued the rest.
"There house was by a mountain. Japan here, well... It has a lot of earthquakes. Usually the family was fine because they were only small ones. Then one day the big one hit. Her sister, being 19 stayed behind with her parents to grab the valuables. They made sure Em was safe outside. But, they didn't make it out in time. Rocks came tumbling down the mountain, crushing the house with then still inside."
I couldn't believe all of this that was being told to me. How come she never told me all this?
"After that I took her in. She still went to the same school and all that. She seemed to have quite a lot of friends. Her main friends though names were Vicky, Sarah, Michaela, Carter, Dakota, and Mckenna. When she turned, well 14, she had enough money to finally be an exorcist at the True Cross academy. Her friends when they told her thought she was joking, but she still went anyway leaving them behind. She said she would keep in touch but... That never happened."
I finished the last remaining tea in the tiny cup.
"Thank you for telling me all of this sir."
He gave me a small bow.
"One must be honest when it comes to the time."
I stood up, and bowed back. He just laughed.
"You don't have to bow back boy."
"O-Oh. Right."
When I turned around Em came in with a purple kimono on, and her hair pulled back.
"I'm done. Alright Rin, let's do homework."
"Actually Em, if you don't mind I want to check up on my brother. I'm sorry."
"Oh that's okay. I know you are extremely worried about him. He's more important than homework."
I nodded, and walked past her.
"Thank you for everything."
Then I left them behind, knowing everything.
