((Em's POV))

Getting back into my daily schedule after I got back kinda sucked.

After spending 2 days crying over my best friend's death, I didn't succeed in finding a job. The rest of the week was basically pointless, and I should have gone back to school instead.

It was 7:30 in the morning when I walked into the school building. None of my friends were in sight, so I was left to stand alone in the huge crowd of students.

"I have so much makeup work to do," I grumbled as I started to walk to my class.
"That's worse then not finding a job."

As I walked, the broken down shrine came to mind. If I didn't get money fast, they were just going to claim the property and get ride of the rubble.

I couldn't let that happen no matter what.

As my shoes clacked against the floor loudly, I still managed to hear some boys talking up ahead. I didn't mean to spy on them, but once I heard the word job I couldn't help myself.

"Yeah, they said they are going to hire students looking for jobs. They are pretty open, and there are a ton of positions left to spare. You guys should join me!" One of the boys said with a smile.

The boy had blonde hair, and I saw that he had green eyes as I stepped closer.

All four of them standing there looked at me as I approached them.

"Excuse me, but did you say something about a job opening?" I asked him.

"Oh, yeah," he smirked. "The restaurant down a couple of blocks is hiring students who need jobs. Why do you ask?"

The restaurant only a couple of blocks down...

The restaurant that Shima and Vicky went on there date to. That seemed so long ago.

"I'm actually looking for a job myself," I admitted. "I've been having trouble recently finding one. Does it pay a lot?"

"Yeah, the job actually pays decently," he responded. "I mean, only really minimum wage. Tips give you a lot more. Were you thinking about working there? I can put in a good word for you."

"But you don't even know my name," I laughed. "Or even know me. How are you going to put in a good word for me?"

"Oh well, what's your name? Mines Flint."

"Emrel, but my friends call me Em since it's easier to pronounce."

"Awesome!" He smiled. "You can come with me after school. My shifts then."

This guy was smiling to much. It almost made me uncomfortable, but I knew he was just being nice.

"Okay, sounds good."

"Em!" A voice called out.

I turned to see Carter and Bon. Bon had called out my name. The two looked confused on why I was talking to some random guy.

"Oh, I got to go. See you Flint!" I called to him as I started to run towards the two.

"Hey! Meet me here after the last bell!" He yelled back.

"Got it!"

When I went up to Carter and Bon, their confused expressions were still on their faces.

"What?" I asked them.

"We're just wondering who you were talking to," Carter frowned. "He looks shady."

"As if Bon doesn't look shady," I snorted.
