NEXT AFTERNOON ~ AT THE LOVE ESTATE
"I'm grateful you came all this way to see me!"
Mitsuri placed a few afternoon snacks on the low table, while rushing around frantically to suit my comforting needs. Well, that's what she assumes anyway. Raising my hand, "Please Mitsuri, I've only come to see how you're doing.......no need to go beyond when I'm here," I assure her; lifting the tea to my lips. "Tea is enough, okay....?"
She seems reluctant but soon joins me, and takes a bite of the cookies the westerns would make.
"So.......how has your training been going?" She questions, in curiosity while eating another cookie.
Placing my tea down, "Well I have been giving them a schedule from morning to afternoon....." I reply softly, taking a cookie to have a taste of the sweetness. Taking a bite I hum softly and finished my mouthful, "......then been using hand to hand combat as an outlet, just so they can learn about the mind and soul when it comes to fighting. It's rather......hard to teach them something like that, when they don't have a clear picture....."
Mitsuri tilts her head, "Is that so.........so you're not going hard on them, like I have?"
My brows hike up in concern, "What kind of flexibility training are you putting your slayers through?"
"Well, I help them stretch beyond their capabilities.....and show how far they can go when they put their mind to it," She replies, in deep thought. "So I helped them out, stretching their limbs.....but sadly they all weren't too fond of my training...." with a slight frown, before she sighs while I share a sympathetic look. ".....how do you do it?"
Raising a brow, "Trust me, I've had my fair share of defiant slayers........but I managed to compromise and teach them the hard way instead," I chuckle softly; glancing outside seeing it was becoming dark. "Being able to become strong, is only patience.......and perseverance. It's not easy for some, but I know you'll train them right.......just figure out ways to help the young slayers to follow instruction."
"Thanks for the feedback!" Mitsuri exclaims, as she sheepishly smiles. "I might be going overboard, but thanks for some input....."
Lifting my tea to my lips, "No problem....and my home is always open for you to visit as well," I offer softly; my eyes glancing around the room to see some antiques from the western culture overseas. "Seems you've collected some more antiques.........quite a collection."
Her eyes light up, "I know right! I'm learning more western recipes, and also they have these things called forks........and even more different kinds of tea like black tea and such!" She exclaims excitedly, and hums. "One day, I wish to see the world once I'm married.....wear different cute dresses and eat different kinds of food! Their music!"
Mitsuri has a fondness for Youshoku, which is a western term for people overseas. It has been influencing since the Meiji period around 1868-1912, and not just food but clothes and even antiques. Just by how her home was displayed and built, it had western aspects to it and I admired that small quirk about her. Compared to her home, mine was more traditional because that's how I was raised in and how it makes me feel at home.
"Well, you better save up some yen........" I smile softly, while taking a small bite out of a small sweet delicacy she made. The first mouthful I felt like my tongue tasted a soft cloud, with a honey glazed taste lingering in my mouth. My cheeks warm up in surprise as I cover my mouth to chew appropriately, ".......hmmm, what's this? It's so fluffy and soft....." letting the sweet fluffy taste linger on my tongue.
