Chapter 28: Meet You

Sol's:

     It's my second day now, here in the Philippines, and I'm longing for my one and only. One day na puro pahinga lang ang ginawa ko, ang sakit na kasi ng katawan ko nu'n e. Napagod sa biyahe. Though I know that we will meet again. It just sucks that he's not here.

     I'm now with my family, eating our breakfast, then, nagsalita si Mama.

Mom: Oh, Sol. Nakalimutan ko'ng sabihin sayo kung ano ba talaga ang totoong dahilan namin kaya ka pinabalik dito.

     Tunay na dahilan?

Me: A-Ano ba 'yun, Ma?

Mom: You're actually invited for your reunion. Bukas na 'yun. Hihingin sana nila sa'min 'yung number mo para matawagan ka at ibalita sa'yo yung tungkol du'n sa reunion. E kaso, you know, we can't.. kasi alam na ng lahat ng tao dito sa Pilipinas na you're Mark's girlfriend. Kahit saan ka tumingin, sa internet or mapa- balita, nandu'n ka. So, sinabi nalang namin na sasabihin nalang namin sa'yo.

     Whoosh! Ang haba ng sinabi ni Mama.

Me: Ah.. ok. (walang gana ko'ng sabi)

Mom: Ikaw? Kwento ka naman tungkol du'n sa boyfriend mo.

     Wait, si Mom? Nagtatanong ng tungkol kay Mark?

Me: Well, he's .. he's really nice. He's.. he's sweet. (pinipigilan ko lang na kiligin n'yan)

     Pero, nakikita parin talaga yata e.

Kuya Ken: Baka nasasakal mo 'yun ah! (biro nya)

Ate Claire: Huy! Bro! Grabe ka naman!

Kuya Ken: E diba first time nya?

Me: Oo, pero kahit kailan 'di ko sasakalin 'yun!

     It feels so good, actually. Cos I really saw in their eyes, there's no doubt, they trust me. Na.. hindi man lang nagawi sa topic namin yung age ni Mark.

Mom: E kailan ba namin makikita 'yang si Mark?

      Biglang sumilay sa labi ko ang napakatamis na ngiti. Nagba- blush na yata ako.

Me: Sooner, Ma. Sooner.

Mom: Does he really treat you well? (mataray na tanong ng Mama ko)

Me: Of course! Ma, mabait s'ya. That's why I love him so much.

     'Di na nakapagsalita 'yung mga kapatid ko. Nagulat sila sa sinabi ko at napangiti nalang. Minsan lang kasi ako'ng magsabi sakanila kung talagang mahal ko 'yung isang tao eh, and I didn't try opening up even way before. Besides, si Mark ang first boyfriend ko. Talagang nag-stay single ako para sa kanya kahit na walang kasiguraduhan, and it's all worth it!

Mark's:

     We're now here inside the car. Going to Kalley's house. She's a really good friend of ours. She's my childhood friend together with Kian and Shane. She left since we were in our ..  I think.. 18 years of age? I can't exactly remember.

Shane's:

     Heading to Kalley's house together with my friend, Mark. I was actually doubting he'd say yes. Because I thought he'd feel uncomfortable with Kalley. Why?

* FLASHBACK *

     We we're really good friends since then. Together with Kian. And the closest to Kalley, it was Mark. Mark became her best friend. But one day.. while we're in the park. I mean all of us. All of us don't have idea what would Kalley say.

Kalley: Ehm, Mark. I-I like you, now.

     We we're all shocked with what she said. Of course Mark too. All of us.

Mark: Wait, what? I-I'm sorry, Kalley. I-I'm not searching for somebody who's like you. And you know that.

Kalley: Sorry, Mark. I know that you're a.. but please! Let's give ourselves a chance!

     They we're talking right in front of me and Kian.

Mark: I-I'm sorry. But I can't.

Kalley: I love you, Mark. I really do. So please, give me a chance.

Mark: I-I'm just so sorry.

     Mark suddenly walked away from us, then, Kalley yelled something and I know that he heard it.

     " I'm gonna leave here, Mark. But please! For the last time. Please! Just love me!"

     Mark turned around and immediately walk towards Kalley.

Mark: R-Really?

Kalley: Y-Yeah. I will. I'll continue to study there and reach my dreams there. Mark, please!

     Sadness was visible in Mark's face. I'm was really sad for them Kian and I we're so shocked with what was happening.

Mark: I-I'm really sorry, Kalley. But.. But, I just can't do what you want me to do.

     Suddenly, Kalley looked at him and smiled. She hugged him so tight.

Kalley: Ok, I understand, if you really can't do it for me. But you'll always be the Mark that I once known.

Mark: Me, too. You'll always be one of the boys.

[Kalley's Flight to USA:]

     She embraced him so tight.

Kalley: I'm gonna miss you, Mark.

Mark: Me, too, Kalley. And.. sorry for..--

Kalley: Na-uh! No sorry, ok? You will love me.

     We were all shocked with what she said. We thought that this thing was over.

Mark: What..?

Kalley: I will come back. And when that time comes.. you will love me. Just promise me, if you'll ever love a girl, make sure it's me, huh? ( we all know that it was just a joke)

Mark: Haha! Yeah.

*End Of FlashBack*

     Now, we're gonna see her again. We're so excited. To meet her again.

     Kasama n'ya ang nanay n'ya na nakaupo sa sofa nila.

Sol: Ma? Can we talk about something?

     Kitang- kita naman na nagtataka ito sa sinabi n'ya.

Mom: Ah.. sure. Ano ba 'yon?

      'Di na rin maitatangging kinakabahan na si Sol.

Sol: Ahm.. Ma, tungkol sa'min ni Mark.

     Agad na kumunot ang noo nito at lumapit sa dalaga para mas maiging marinig ang sasabihin nito.
