It's been about a day since all the girls confessed their feelings to you when Master Wu asked that you and the others return to Ninjago City. Of course, the girls wanted to tag along, so the ones you brought with you were Twilight Sparkle, the Rainbooms, the Dazzlings, the Shadow Five, Trixie Lulamoon, and Starlight Glimmer. Eventually, Wu came back to pick you all up in the Destiny's Bounty, and you headed back to Ninjago to face the Mechanic.
Currently, in Ninjago City, a citizen is playing Lava Zombies on his phone when he bumps into another citizen who is also looking at her phone. They wave at each other and continue on their way. The city continues as usual, with everyone going about their daily routines. Clutch Powers is walking along a sidewalk when he finds a familiar teapot, rubs it, and a puff of orange smoke appears, causing a nearby pedestrian to look up before quickly continuing forward while looking at his phone. Gayle Gossip passes by Laughy's, where Dareth is helping two women leave. He notices Gayle and follows her. Jake and his dad drive past Laughy's while Jake plays on his phone. Vinny stops by a noodle food cart as the vendor hands him a cup of noodles, and he inhales the noodle aroma happily. Nelson and Antonia go about their usual routine of delivering newspapers around the city, and Sammy waves at them as they take off. A Noodle Truck is then seen driving into an alleyway.
The day turns into night, and the Noodle Truck keeps driving until it stops in front of an old electronics warehouse. The back of the truck opens, and the Mechanic and his henchmen jump out. The Mechanic then uses his robo-arm to blow open the sides of the warehouse door, causing it to fall over inside.
The Mechanic: We're in, boys!
They all look around to see a bunch of old electronic equipment.
Henchman 1: Huh, look at all this old junk.
He says, making the Mechanic grab him by the collar of his shirt.
The Mechanic: Just because it's old doesn't make it junk, just forgotten.
He then tosses the thug away.
The Mechanic: Find the motherboard!
He commands as his henchmen begin searching the area. The Mechanic begins to look around until he spots something on a top shelf.
The Mechanic: There! The top shelf.
One of his henchmen then sets up a ladder and climbs to the top shelf. He grabs the box but then loses his balance on the ladder, causing him to fall and knocking all the motherboards in the box to the ground. The henchman falls into a box of Styrofoam as the Mechanic pulls him out by his collar.
The Mechanic: Careful with those!
He yells, tossing the henchman and the box aside, and begins looking through the motherboards.
Henchman 2: What are we looking for, Boss?
He asks as the Mechanic finds a motherboard that is different from the others and picks it up.
