Krag and the others walk down the mountain and see Boreal heading over to the village, and they all run over. Once Boreal reaches the village, he starts to freeze everything in his path. Kai tries to stop him, but his Fire isn't strong enough, and he fails. The others return and see the villagers in their frozen state, and the remaining Ninja and girls, along with Krag, decide to confront the Ice Emperor.
Meanwhile, you, Lloyd, Akita, and the girls are close to the Ice Emperor's castle and take a breather before confronting him. Just then, Boreal comes in and defeats you and Lloyd. Vex tells Boreal to bring you, Lloyd, and the girls to the Ice Emperor, and he takes you all there. Once there, you all are dragged in to meet the Ice Emperor, who might actually be your long-lost friend, Zane.
Back in Ninjago, Wu and P.I.X.A.L. try to open a portal to the Never-Realm using the Traveler's Tea. In doing so, they unleash the Preeminent from the Departed Realm, and she starts to head towards Ninjago City. P.I.X.A.L. then gears up in her Samurai X mech to fight the Preeminent.
As the Preeminent rampages the streets, P.I.X.A.L. comes in to stop her. After a long and enduring battle, P.I.X.A.L. has no other choice then to overpower herself to stop the Preeminent, even if it means sacrificing herself. She succeeds, and she drags the Preeminent back into the Departed Realm, which required the last of the Traveler's Tea, and now Wu and P.I.X.A.L. only hope that you all return to Ninjago somehow.

Within the mountains of the Never-Realm, a lone man wanders around, that man being Vex before his icy transformation. He once had the appearance of a common villager, wearing a straw hat and commoner's clothes, with a normal human face, a moustache, facial hair, and bushy eyebrows.

He mumbles to himself as he continues wandering the mountains until he stumbles upon a castle (soon to be the Ice Emperor's Castle).
Vex: Huh?
He looks down in confusion before gasping. The entrance to the castle opens, and he sees some samurai warriors marching out. He kneels, partially hiding himself as he continues observing. He then hears spears being pulled out, and turns around and gasps when he sees three samurai warriors standing before him, with one of them pointing his spear at him. Vex then stands up and raises his hands in surrender.
Later, two warriors bring Vex inside the castle to Grimfax's throne room (which would soon be the Ice Emperor's throne room).
