stay the night

"he never spends the night! He'll come over but he insists on leaving at ten" Harry sighs
"Have you asked him why he won't spend the night?" Hermione asked
"Something about beauty sleep, but he won't let me spend the night at his place either! He always kicks me out at ten"
"Maybe he just takes a while to get comfortable, eventually he'll spend the night with you, you just have to be patient"

Harry was terrible at being patient. So terrible that instead of waiting he hid underneath his invisibility cloak after Draco told him to leave and followed Draco around his house. Watching him go upstairs to his bedroom and into the bathroom. Draco showered and when he came out of the shower he began his skincare routine, using way more moisturizers, creams, potions, and lotions than Harry ever thought would be necessary for even the worst skin conditions. He finished his routine by applying a facemask and Harry decided to confront Draco, taking off the invisibility cloak and immediately getting a spell tossed his way.
"Potter!" Draco screamed as he recognized the figure in his room "what are you doing in my room? I told you to see yourself out!"
"Because of a stupid skincare routine? We've been together for months and you refuse to stay over or let me stay over because of some ridiculously complicated skincare routine?"
"So you decided to spy on me?" Draco marched up to Harry and snatched the invisiblity cloak from his hand "I'm confiscating this" He said "it's gotten you into enough trouble for 10 lifetimes"
"Draco, I just had to know why you won't let me spend the night or spend the night at my place, and I don't care about what you look like without your makeup on or with that green stuff all over your face..."
Draco rolls his eyes "that's not why I won't spend the night. I can easily bring my skincare routine with me"
"Then why wont you spend the night?"
"Since I apparently have no privacy on this relationship I guess I'll tell you" Draco went to his bed and gently picked up a snake plushie "this is noodle. I've had him since I was a baby... I can't sleep without him"
Harry stared at Draco for a moment "I can't sleep without the baby blanket I was wrapped in when I was left on my aunt's doorstep"
Draco looked horrified for a moment "you were left on a doorstep?"
Harry blinks "yeah, after my parents died hagrid picked me up and brought me to my aunt's house where Dumbledore put me on the doorstep"
Draco stared at Harry "and he just... Left you there?"
"Yeah pretty much-"
"What if your uncle left in a rush and accidentally stepped on you?"
Harry didn't have a response.
"He just left you there- what if a wild animal got to you? maybe that famous scar of yours is actually a scratch from a stray cat"
Harry opened his mouth but didn't know what to say. "And what about my Future? If something horrible happened to you on that doorstep and my future husband died as a result of Dumbledore's incompetence"
"Dumbledore wasn't incompetent, I'm sure there was a reason-"
"He didn't think to knock? Get you all settled in before abandoning you?"
"My aunt never would have answered the door for a wizard-"
"Then dress like a muggle! For Merlin's sake he shouldn't have just left you there!"
