This may come as a shock to some considering how much smut I write, but I am asexual (often abbreviated to ace). So why do i "want(s) complete strangers to know they don't fancy a shag." Well, to put it simply it's because if I don't tell people I don't want to fuck they'll assume I do want to fuck. Yes, this is a real issue people face.
Most people don't go around telling complete strangers that they're ace. I'm guessing she's talking about people who have come out online as ace and the reason people do this is to raise awareness. Growing up I was told that I would start experiencing sexual attraction towards men. (I was assigned female at birth) I thought there was something wrong with me because I never started to experience sexual attraction. It wasn't until one of my friends came out as ace that I realized there wasn't something wrong with me, I was just ace.  
I was in a relationship where I had to bluntly tell the person I was in a relationship with that I did not want to have sex with them. If you ever feel like you need to tell someone "I don't want to have sex with you" or they're going to try and have sex please leave that relationship. Consent isn't not saying no it's an enthusiastic yes.
Ace pride is the same as gay pride. If ace people are 'bad' for "telling complete strangers they don't fancy a shag" gay people are just as 'bad' for telling complete strangers they fancy a shag with the same sex.  She's very clever with her wording, making it sound like it's all about sex when it's not but wording can change the connotation of the meaning it doesn't actually change the meaning. For example: "the baby was swaddled in pink to let everyone know she was a girl" sounds pleasant and normal whereas "the baby was color coded so everyone knew what genitals it had" makes it seem more perverse even though it's a more technical description of what's happening.

Anyways, hopefully I'll be back with more shameless omegaverse smut, but if jkr comes after more letters of lgbtqia+ I'll feel obligated to address that too.
