"what are you doing here" Harry looked at Lucius Malfoy keeping the door deadbolted.
"I want to see my grandson" Lucius states
"You don't have a grandson."
Harry closes the door only for it to magically unlock and open "he appeared on the family tree, I know he's-" Lucius was cut off by a black German Shepard barking aggressively at him.
"Padfoot doesn't like intruders" Harry says.
Harry heard movement upstairs and rushed upstairs to check on Draco. Lucius followed Harry quietly
"Hon, who was at the- oh, hello father" Draco froze when he saw his father and held the baby close to him.
"Get out" Harry growled looking back at Lucius.
"Is mother alright?" Draco asked
"She's fine, I wanted to see my grandson" Lucius explains. "I saw him appear on the family tree"
"And you wanted to see if he could be the alpha son you never had. When you burned all bridges with me you should have realized that would extend to any children I have" Draco moved to stand up and Harry rushes to his side, gently taking the baby from Draco
"Be careful hon you just gave birth"
Draco stood leaning on Harry slightly "you told me you had no son, and now you have no grandson either"
"Draco please, the healer told you to stay in bed" Harry guided Draco back to the bed he then glared at Lucius "I suggest you leave before I arrest you for trespassing"
At that Lucius left, and Draco returned to the bed Harry kissed his forehead and gave him back the baby. Draco looked at Harry "am I being unfair keeping James from his grandparents?" He asked.
"It'd be nice if he could have a relationship with your mother, but it's understandable why you want to keep your father away"
Draco took the baby and looked at him "what do you think James? Do you want a relationship with your grandfather?"

"James wants to know about his grandparents" Draco looked  at his father "so Harry and I are going to visit, but if you say anything I don't approve of we will leave and you will never see James or Remus ever again or any other kids Harry and I have"
Harry came through the fireplace holding Remus in one hand and holding James's hand.
Narcissa looked at her grandchildren, "James, you look just like your father" she then looks at Harry "may i hold Remus?" She asked
"Remus? So it's true you named him after th-" Lucius was cut off by Narcissa hitting his arm
"After a wonderful man, I'm sure" she finished her husband's sentence
"Remus Severus Potter" Draco nods
Lucius opened his mouth only for Narcissa to glare daggers at him, causing him to close it once again.
Harry gently handed Remus over to Narcissa "ooh, he's got Draco's hair" she cooed, running her hands through the baby's pale blonde curls.
"It'll straighten over time" Lucius said "we don't want-"
Narcissa hit her husband "we don't want you two having to deal with how unmanageable curly hair can be!"
The visit continued in this manner, Narcissa constantly cutting off her husband to correct whatever he was going to say. It was the first time Draco had seen his mother openly defying his father instead of being quiet and passive like usual.
"It's amazing your mom can always stop him before he crosses the line" Harry whispers to Draco
"Any member of my family can tell when their partner is about to say something stupid" Draco says
Harry rolled his eyes "sure you can"
"We're skilled legilimens I always know when you're about to say something stupid, like right now, I can see the stupidity brewing in your mind"
"I'm not gonna say something stupid"
"Except you just did. You're arguing with me, which is stupid, because when has that ever worked out in your favor"
Harry paused for a moment to think
"And now you're trying to come up with something non-idiotic to say, try this: 'you're right Draco, I'm sorry for being such an idiot'"
"I'm not an idiot-"
"You flew a magical flying car to school our second year"
"That was the past-"
"Last week you drunkenly drove that damn motorbike over 3 muggle towns without any form of cloaking magic"
"That's not-"
"I had to bail you out of jail"
Harry sighs and crosses his arms
Draco kisses Harry on the cheek "it's okay, as long as you're my idiot"
"I get it, I'm not smart enough for you, you don't have to remind me all the time, just leave if you're that unhappy"
"Harry. I love you, and that's something far beyond my control, believe me you are the last person I'd choose to fall in love with-"
Harry huffs
"It makes no sense for me to be in love with you, that's how you know it's real love, Harry. So yeah, you're gonna do stuff that annoys me, but I'm still going to love you" Draco kisses Harry's cheek
"So if you could choose who to be with, you wouldn't choose me?" Harry asks
Draco sighs "if I was magically stripped of all emotions, yes, I'd probably choose Theo or someone else my father approved of. But I do have emotions and I fell for you" Draco took Harry's hands "think about it, both our lives would be much easier if we loved different people, but it's because of that difficulty that we know we really love each other"
Harry nods, he still didn't quite understand what Draco was getting at, but understood that Draco loved him.

"I'm glad your parents are coming around, but I'm not so sure I want them around the kids unsupervised" Harry looked at Draco nervously
"I understand" Draco looked at his stomach, putting a hand on the bump "but Mrs Weasley is busy and it's hard to find a wizard babysitter"
"And a muggle can't watch our kids because...?"
"Because our house is magic in a magic community, with magic appliances and two magical babies"
"James is almost 3"
"He's still my baby"
"Yeah, but he's not a baby"
"But he's my baby, no matter how old he gets"
"Yes, but he's a toddler not a baby"
"He's still a magical toddler, and he can't control his magic yet
"He doesn't have a wand or anything, what's the worst he could do"
"You released a snake from the zoo without a wand or anything and I would routinely use magic to get candy and toys before I got my first wand"
Harry sighed "I don't want your dad taking bad about me to our kids"
"My mom won't let him, besides James is at the stage where he repeats everything he hears so if he says anything we'll find out" Draco kissed Harry on the cheek reassuringly.

"How was he?" Draco asks his mother as he squatted down to hug James.
"James was delightful as always" Narcissa smiled
"I meant my father" Draco said
"He behaved himself"
"Good" Harry picked up James as Narcissa handed Remus to Draco
"How's the pregnancy going?"
"Good, the baby is healthy, and developing properly"
"Did you find out the gender?"
"It's a girl, we're naming her Lilly"
"Lilly was always a lovely girl"
"You knew my mom?" Harry asked
"We weren't friends or anything but she was always kind to everyone"
Harry nods "you're welcome to come visit us and the kids whenever you want Mrs. Malfoy"
"Just send an owl first" Draco adds
Narcissa hugged Draco and Harry before letting the pair leave with their kids. "It's a girl!" She squealed to her husband once they were gone.
"And they're naming her after a mudblood" Lucius sighed.
