James Potter (Harry's dad) is the reason 1st years can't have brooms

"care to explain why I found this in James's trunk?" Draco held up a brand new nimbus 2025 "first years aren't allowed to have brooms" Draco reminded Harry 

"But I just know James is gonna make the quidditch team and he needs a broom of his own if he's gonna play" 

"We can send the broom to Madame Hooch and she can let him use it for flying classes and quidditch" 

"I had a broom in my first year, they'll make an exception once he's on the team"

"And how can you be so sure he's gonna make the team?" 

"Because he's /my/ son!"

"So you're putting extra pressure on him to make the quidditch team when he's never flown a broom before?" 

"He'll be a natural! And if he doesn't make the team I'll just buy the entire Gryffindor team new brooms, then he'll be on the team"

"Slytherin. He's gonna be in Slytherin, and my dad didn't bribe the team, the new brooms were given to the team after I made the team"

"Sure, and I beat you to the snitch very match because?"

"At least I could catch the snitch with my hands"

"That was one time!"

Draco put his hand up motion for harry to be quiet. "Accio invisibility cloak" he said and the cloak came flying into his hands, revealing a small girl with red hair. "Lilly, what are you doing up?" Draco asked

"You two were fighting, I don't like it when you two fight" she says. 

"Take it up with your father, maybe you can get him to stop doing stupid stuff" 

"Don't bring the kids into this" Harry says. 

Draco glares back at Harry "and you buying James a broom isn't bringing the kids into this?" 

"Stop fighting!" Lilly stamped her foot. 

"Lilly, we're not fighting, we're just having a disagreement and we're talking it out" Draco says "now, where did you find Daddy's invisibility cloak. 

Harry's eyes went wide and he mimicked zipping his lips, trying to signal Lilly to not answer Draco's questions. 

Lilly didn't see her father's desperate gestures and answered honestly "it was in James's trunk" 

Draco smiles and kisses his daughter on the forehead before picking her up. "Let's go back to bed sweetie" 

When Draco got back he dragged Harry to the bedroom, redoing the soundproofing charm that was around their room before yelling "WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU THINKING? YOU WANT TO ENCOURAGE JAMES TO DO ALL THE STUPID AND DANGEROUS SHIT YOU DID WHEN WE WHERE AT HOGWARTS? YOU WANNA TELL HIM HOW TO OPEN THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS WHILE YOUR AT IT? YOU WANT HIM-"

Harry tried to shut Draco up with a kiss, which usually worked when Draco was mad at him, but not this time. Draco shoved Harry off of him

"Don't touch me!" Draco took a deep breath. "Go see if Ron and Hermione have a spare room, I can't- I can't even be in the same house as you anymore"

Draco waved his wand, packing s bag for Harry and throwing it at him. "Get out." 

Harry approached Draco at the train station "I'm just here to see James off" he says

Draco didn't acknowledge him and held Cissy close, holding Lily's hand with his other hand. 

"James, be good while you're at school, don't make your mother worry about you getting into trouble or anything" harry pat his son's head. 

"Remus, Scorpius, Lilly, Cissy I want you on your best behavior while I'm gone, take care of your mother-"

"Where are you going?" James asked 

Harry looked to Draco for help, and Draco spoke only for the kid's sake. "He has a last minute work trip. He doesn't know how long he'll be gone for" 

"Yeah, a last minute work trip" Harry agreed and kissed each of his kids on the forehead, saying goodbye to them.  

"Draco when can I come hoooome I miss you" Harry whined "and the kids! My babies! I wanna see my babies!" 

"Potter are you drunk?" Draco held the phone in his hand confused. He had answered it on accident and didn't know how to hang up. 

"A lil jus a lil, but I wanna see you! Nd don't call me Potter, it's your last name too y'know. An I'm sorry for giving James the broom and the invisibility cloak, I jus felt like he might knees them, y'know, like I did" This wasn't the first time Harry had apologized for the broom or the invisibility cloak "and look! He made the quidditch team! I was right!" 

Draco smiled a little "okay, okay" he says

"You're smiling aren't you! I can hear it on your voice, so can I come home?

"Tomorrow, when you're sober, you can visit" Draco says. 

"Yussss! I'm gonna win you back baby, I promise. Please don't ignore me when I come, I can't stand when you do that"

Harry came with flowers and chocolates for Draco, and apologized again for the broom and the invisibility cloak. 

"I sent him the broom anyway" Draco admitted "I just don't want my son flying a borrowed broom, and the nimbus 2025 has some useful safety features..."

Harry smiled "I told you he'd need it" he says "and I knew he'd make the team all on his own" 

"I just don't know why you thought encouraging him to snea- oh God the map. Please tell me you didn't give him the map. I didn't see it in his things but I was in a rush and-" 

"I kept the map" Harry pulled it out of his cloak and showed it to Draco, tapping it with his wand "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good" 

"To keep tabs on him, make sure he isn't skipping classes or anything" 

James was currently in potions and Draco smiled "God I hope he does better in that class than you did" Draco smiles.
