70. Sharing the news

James' pov

I'm at home with Emma and Brad, we have been looking at the photo of the scan from yesterday for about five minutes. I think the scan has made the fact that I am going to be a father sink in more. We are actually waiting for Joe to come and pick us up. Emma is coming to the next show with us and she might even be allowed to come to the interview with us today hopefully.

During the interview, Emma and I have decided to tell the fans about the pregnancy. We had already decided to tell people after the first scan and we know the baby is healthy, which thankfully it is. Although I'm happy to be able to tell people our brilliant news, I am also nervous because I don't know how people are going to take it. Emma gets enough hate as it is being my girlfriend and Brad's sister but if fans know that she is pregnant I'm scared that the hate will get worse and although I know Emma is strong and she knows to ignore it all, she is emotional at the moment and I don't want her getting hurt or upset by the hate. But saying that I know a lot of the fans will be accepting and happy for us and they are the fans that I am happy to be sharing this with.

Emma's pov

James and I had a long talk this morning about telling the fans and we decided to tell them at today's interview. I just hope Joe lets me go because I am going to their next show but we haven't asked him about me going to the interview yet. Although I know Joe is a softie really so hopefully even if he says no we will be able to bring him round. With James, Brad's, probably the other boys and my puppy dog eyes I don't see how he can't say yes.

Looking at the picture of the baby scan which my brother is currently holding, I think about how the fans will handle the news. Hopefully they will handle it well but I know it will be a bit of a shock for them and it may take a few days for people to actually accept it. I've also been considering staying off social media sites for a day or two as well to let the initial shock blow over because I know that will be the period in which we will be most prone to hate. Any hate I receive bough I'm just going to try and take with a pinch of salt. It will be alright in the end as long as nobody tries to hurt anyone.

Brad's pov

While James and Em were having their little parenting talk this morning I called Connor and Tristan to see how our little plan is going. We had two days without any shows, yesterday and today. Although we have an interview today we haven't had anything else planned so we took advantage of that time.

Connor and Tristan met up with their families and James's family and my dad when they weren't with us to arrange the surprise for Emma and James. As far as I know they don't suspect a thing because they are so caught up in their little baby bubble. While hey we're at the can yesterday I nipped over to Connor's to help sort things out. It's coming together nicely, we have all put funds in and we've even had other family members and friends donate into the fund and help out. Jayna has put in quite a bit too help and she is ridiculously excited to see what James' and Emma's reaction will be.

James' pov

There is a knock at my door and Joe walks in with a massive smile on his face.

"Hey." He beams. "So let's see the picture then." Emma lets out a small giggle as she hands the small picture over to our manager who takes it but looks a little lost for a few seconds before the smile returns to his face. "Wow."

"There was a healthy heartbeat, it was really strong, and it is due on seventeenth of May." James beams before his smile slips slightly.

"What's wrong?" Joe asks noticing the smile drop.

"We have shows around then, a lot of shows."

"Well hopefully this little one will come when your not at a show if it does then we will sort something out." James nods.
