James' pov

I watch in horror as the staff attend to our baby who still hasn't made a noise. Emma is crying viciously into my shirt. Our baby isn't breathing and right now but the doctors are doing everything they can to get it to breath. Yes I am still saying it because we don't know the gender of the baby because our main priority was trying to get the baby to breathe.

Suddenly the sound that Emma and I have been crying over rings through our ear.

"Well done guys." A doctors says as he picks the baby up. He carries the baby wrapped in the blanket over to us. "Congratulations"

"What happened? Why didn't he breathe?"

"She had a little trouble adjusting to breathing on her own but she is perfectly healthy and is breathing now."

"She? It's a girl?" He nods with a massive smile on her face. Emma cries harder but this time I think it's happy tears.

"Would you like to hold her?" Emma nods so he hands the baby to her. "I'll leave you in peace. I will send your friends and family in soon if you'd like." We thank him and he leaves the room along with the other members of staff.

"You gave us a fright then little one." Emma says calmly. "Don't do that again I thought we'd lost you." Our little girl stop crying and is now looking at Emma with big eyes. "She has your eyes you know." Emma smiles up at me.

"She is my little princess."

"Want to hold her?" I nod and Emma hands me the baby. I support her fragile body as I look at her little face. My heart beats harder as I look at my little princess.

"So. Amelia or Cassandra?"

"Cassie. She definitely looks like a Cassie."

"Welcome to the world Cassie." I smile, tears evident in my eyes. Emma yawns, I look into her tired, droopy eyes.

"Go to sleep Em , Cass and I will be here when you wake up."

"No our families are outside I'll see them first." I hand Cassandra back to her mum so that I can go and see our families. I walk out of the room and down the corridor slightly to where everyone is waiting patiently. All eyes are on me as I approach them.

"So what are you talking about?" I say avoiding the subject just to tease them.

"Come on James!"

"Do I have a niece or a nephew?"

"Okay so who wants to come and meet my little girl?" I ask with a massive smile on my face.

"It's a girl?" My mum gasps so I nod.

"Congratulations James."

"She is already causing trouble though." I laugh, a few just laugh with me but Sophie, Connor and Brad look a bit confused. "When you hold her just be careful. She is healthy but she was still born. It took the doctors about four minutes to get her to breathe."

"Oh James honey. Is she okay now though?"

"Yeah she is fine now. So who wants to meet her?" They all jump up and we walk into the room. Emma is cuddling Cassie speaking softly to her, I stop everyone so we don't disturb her. I take a picture capturing the moment. As the shutter goes off Emma looks up.

"Took your time." She laughs. I walk over and perch on the bed next to her with my arm around her shoulders.

"I was explaining how she is causing trouble already."  Emma giggle and leans her head on me.

"What's her name?"

"Cassandra."

"Can I?" Mum asks. Emma hands Cassie to her.
