Emma's pov
For the past two days I have been receiving text after text from the psycho who is after James. I haven't told anyone because I have decided that it is something that I can deal with myself. I've tried not to push the person too much but I've ignored all of the texts that they have sent me, although I have kept them in case I need them for some sort of evidence.
As for the whole 'what am I doing with my life' situation, I have been singing and practicing a song and today I am hoping to record it and upload it onto my YouTube channel, which I have yet to make. I've decided to sing A Thousand Years because in my eyes it has meaning. I liked James before I got together with him and I always will like him. I would do anything for James and so I thought I could express that through the song.
Wow that sounds really cheesy!
Dad is at work and Brad is at the studio so I have the house to myself so I open up YouTube and type in the name of the song. Making sure that the speakers are plugged in and turned up I press play letting the music flow out of the speakers. I listen to the intro and count in.
"Heart beats fast. Colours and promises. How to be brave, how can I love when I'm afraid to fall. Watching you stand alone. All of my doubt suddenly goes away some how. One step closer." I sing. I think about James which helps me to sing the song better as I start to put all of the emotions that I have into the lyrics.
I feel a tear slip down my cheek as the I start to sing the final chorus. This song always makes me emotional. As the music finishes and fades I smile and stop the music before it goes on to play another song. Another go and I will record it. I press replay and the music starts again.
Just like before I sing the song to the best of my ability. Getting lost in the sound of the music I allow the lyrics to flow off my tongue like there is no effort.
For the second time the song finishes, fading away so I stop it before it goes on to another song. Recording time. I pick my phone up and call Dean.
"Emma you alright?"
"Grand thanks Dean. I have a favour to ask."
"Go ahead."
"Could I borrow a camera please?" I explain to him what I am doing with the YouTube channel and he happily agrees telling me to come to the studios. I thank him and hang up the phone before rushing to gather my keys and bus pass.
When I have everything together I leave the house after locking all of the doors and make my way to the bus stop. There is only one bus from this bus stop that goes by the road that the studios are on and it is a fairly regular bus so hopefully I won't have to wait long.
---
I make it to the studios after having to wait twenty minutes for the bus because one broke down and the other was running late because of the broken down bus and then being stuck in traffic for a while. I click the buzzer to come in and wait for an answer.
"Hello."
"Hey my name is Emma Simpson. Dean Sherwood should be expecting me."
"Let me have a look." I hear some tussling over the receiver. "There is no Emma due in today have you got the right day?"
"Yes let me ring him he might not have told you."
"Okay." The buzzer clicks again and goes off as I pull my phone out and ring Dean.
"Dean they won't let me in."
"I'm coming." He laughs before apologising. The line goes dead and put my phone back away. Another five minutes later his voice crackled through the receiver apologising again before the gates open so I make my way to the building. "Sorry Emma I was trying to get everything set up. I told the other receptionist but he went on his break and he must have not written it in. I have a studio ready for you to record. I also have a camera set up ready."
