Emma's pov

I have told my parents about what Ms Holmes has said to me as well as putting it as a status on Facebook and tweeting about it. I am a little excited sue me. Well anyway mum has said we can have a celebratory meal tonight which basically means we get to go out somewhere to a nice restaurant and I get to pick where we go.

College finished nearly an hour ago now, I am at home waiting for my brother and his band to come home. I haven't a slightest clue when they are coming home so until then I am just practicing the song chords on my guitar. Well I say the song chords it is a mix between chords and just single notes and broken chords. Either way I need to practice.

My fingers dance around the guitar fret as they change from chord to chord so I can play different notes. My left hand gripping the guitar pick, strumming the strings in a down up down down up up motion. I repeat the chords over and over in my head as well as the rhythm to make sure I play everything correctly.

I finish the song with the final chord and turn the pages of the music book back to the beginning of the song. This time I play again but instead of humming or saying things in my mind I sing along with the melody. I get completely lost in the music after the first three bars of music. I close my eyes and let myself fall into the trance of the music, my fingers changing chords at the right time and my hand strumming the strings rhythmically without thinking about what I am doing. The lyrics roll off my tongue as I put every ounce of emotion I have into the song.

I finish the song once again. A series of clapping come from behind me making me jump.

"All this time I have known you I did not know you could sing or play like that." James says with a pure look of shock on his face.

"That was really good Emma you are a natural like Brad. Seriously though do something with that talent."

"Emma that was amazing. You'll ace your music with that."

"My Emzy is so talented."

"Thank you guys. How long have you been standing there?"

"Verse two line one." Brad says pin pointing the exact time when they arrived. That just goes to show you how much Brad and I know this song we know the song off by heart. I dip my head so I am looking at my guitar for a second before standing up and putting it back in its stand in the corner of my room. "Emzy I am so proud of you." Brad gushes. He runs in and hugs me, well squashes me. I hug him back laughing while trying to say thank you.

"Brad I. You."

"Brad don't kill the girl let her go." Connor laughs. Brad lets me go and I stumble before falling flat on my butt. Great. I cross my legs and arms and pout while giving the puppy dog eyes to the guys.

"At least someone doesn't want me dead. Thank you Connor."

"No problem." He smiles. "Have you got the music sheet for the bass I can have a look at it now if you want me too."

"Really? Thank you Connor." I beam up at him before scrambling to my feet and grabbing the music book I was previously using. I place it in my printer and scan the pages then hand them to Connor.

"Thanks." He takes a look at the song as a small smile plays on his lips. I look at him giving him a look of 'please tell me why you are smirking at the music'. Connor looks at me with soft warm eyes. He must have memories with this song or something. "Brad have you got ..."

"Downstairs in the basement by James' guitar." Brad cuts him off. Connor has a guitar here? As far as I am concerned Brad doesn't have a bass guitar. I don't think. Well he might. Oh who cares it's a guitar. "Anybody want any drinks?" We all nod enthusiastically. I nod so much I feel as though my head is going to fall off.
