73. Hunt for the surprise

Brad's pov

"And that is that last finishing touch." I say moving an item into place. Standing back I look at the outcome of the work that we've all put in to this surprise. I'm so proud of us, we've done really well and the finished result is better than I imagined. I just hope that James and Emma actually like it.

"Right everyone on to the bus and we will talk tactics." Joe calls so we make our way into the tour bus. Today is another day where we don't have anything on, it seems like we get a lot of days off but we actually don't, full days off are quite rare because we are always doing something. James and Emma have taken this opportunity to go out for the day, well morning, which gave us the perfect chance to polish off their present and figure out how we are going to present them with the surprise. With everyone seated in the lounge and kitchen area we start our little meeting.

"Okay so we don't want to just be like 'oh yeah surprise here you go done' I think it will be cool to add the suspense a little more. Make them work for the surprise." Jayna says.

"Yeah that way they want to know what the surprise is but they will not know until they are in the verge of screaming because try are so desperate to find out." Tristan adds.

"Well when you kids say it like that it sounds quite evil. Can we bear in mind that one of them is actually five nearly six months pregnant?" Dad laughs, as stupid as it is Tristan, Connor, Jayna and I slouch a little as if we almost forgot that Emma is pregnant so we can't make it too hard or pressuring for them because of Emma and the baby's health.

"Alright so we want it to be fun and to extend the suspense but we want it to be safe and not stressful. Any ideas?" Silence falls over us, everyone single person has a blank look on their face. Great no ideas what so ever. I look from my band mates to Jayna and her family then to my dad, James' family and Tristan and Connor's family as they also helped out a little and finally my eyes land on Joe and Dean. We had a lot of people working on this project, without all of these people we would probably still be working on the project now and it would probably be nowhere near done.

"We could always just given them cryptic messages or something until they figure it out?"

"Or we can play charades and they have to guess the surprise."

"That would be too easy for them to guess."

"Wait going back to the cryptic messages." Sophie says with a look on her face telling the rest of us that she has an idea. All attention is on her as she suggests her grand idea. Sophie is usually quite good at being devious and making plans, I suppose that's what you get for having James as a big brother. "So this may sound childish but think about how childish James and Emma are anyway." We all nod knowing that we can all be really childish when we want to be. "So how about we make cues, cryptic message and send them on a little hunt, kind of like a little treasure hunt. We make a clue which will send them to one destination to another, one person can be the designated driver should they need one, again baring in mind Emma is nearly six months pregnant she may not want to be running all over the pace so a driver may help her. One person is at each destination with a clue. When James and Emma find you, you hand them to clue and meet back here when they are gone. Eventually they will be lead here where we will hand them the surprise."

"That's a good idea."

"That ticks all of the boxes, add suspense, it is brilliant."

"You Sophie are a little devious planner."

"Right now we just need to make a route for them to go, make notes and clues for the different destinations and chose who is doing what." Joe pulls his laptop out and prints out two maps. Handing one map to Connor we put it in the middle of our half of the table so we can plan the route while he keeps the second map up his end of the table so we can all see a map clearly. As a group we start to make suggestions of where we can send James and Emma on this little hunt, two people taking responsibility to draw the route on the maps.
