James' pov

Three days we have been engaged now but we aren't planning the wedding now. I mean there is no rush because neither of us are going anywhere the main thing is that she is mine and at some point when we both see fit we will be married and we will be a proper family with Cassandra. I still haven't gotten over the fact that she has actually said yes though. I guess even though I know that we both love each other I had that small doubt in the back of my mind making me think that she might say no because let's be honest marriage, even just proposing itself, it is a massive step in the relationship.

Emma and I have worked out this routine of taking it in turns to attend to Cassie when she wakes up at night which means that we are able to sleep slightly better, although we are waking up what feels like every half an hour to Cassie's screams, although in actual fact it is only every hour or so. It is also taking less time to settle Cassie at night which I am pretty sure is because we have figured out what her cries mean now, whether it is for food or just to be held or because she needs changing.

It is currently ten o'clock, Cassie and I have been up for an hour now watching kids shows on the TV. She normally wakes up around nine o'clock we I'm used to it now although because it is the morning I don't have the energy to be running around so we normally just chill in front of the TV. My stomach rumbles and I realise how hungry I actually am.

"Shall we get some food?" I ask Cassie who is sitting on the chair next to me with cushions all around her in case she tips over so that she doesn't hurt herself, even though she is on a soft chair. It is better to be safe than sorry. She makes a gurgling noise while playing with her toy. I stand up and lift Cassie up, resting her on my hip. She continues to play with her toy while I carry her through to the kitchen. When we reach the kitchen I put her in her high chair and buckle her up so that she is safe not that she really cares because she is fascinated with her toy. That is the good thing with babies, they are fascinated by the simplest thing.

With my daughter occupied I start to look through the cupboards and fridge, searching for something to eat. Settling on some pancakes I get out the raw oats, cottage cheese, whey protein and eggs for my protein pancakes. My daughter makes a weird noise behind me causing me to chuckle to myself as it was the most abnormal noise ever. I then think about what you need for normal pancakes for Emma and Cassie. I get the ingredients that I need before mixing the two batters separately and cooking them.

I do Cassie's first, cutting the pancakes into bite-size small pieces for her to eat easily. I put the small pieces of pancake into her bowl and put it in front of her. She starts to play with the pieces of pancakes occasionally shoving little bits into her small mouth. I cook some more normal pancakes, putting lemon juice and sugar on them when they are cooked. I turn the grill on a low temperature and put the plate right at the bottom of the grill so that the pancakes will stay warm.

"How are you doing Cass?" I ask her when I am finished cooking pancakes for Emma. There are a few bits of pancakes on the floor but she has eaten a lot of it so I take the bowl away and pick her up. Carrying both Cassie and the warm plate of pancakes along with a knife and fork into the bed. I lie Cassie down on my side of the bed on her back, she start to grab the bed covers in her small fists as she starts to entertain herself. Placing the plate of pancakes and cutlery on the bedside table I sit next to Emma who is peacefully asleep. "Emma." I say softly with my hand on her arm. "Em wake up babes I brought breakfast." I say. She stirs slightly but doesn't wake up completely so I call her name again except this time her eyes open.

"Hey." She says in a low voice.

"Breakfast in bed my lady?" I say with a posh voice making her laugh.
