Do I Ever - Tone Stith ft Chris Brown.

Y/N'S POV.

Being at Lizzie's family home allows me to see a side of her that I had never seen before.

Like the relationship she has with her parents and sisters, it's beautiful to see her so happy.

Dinner has been delicious, and the conversation at the table seems endless, filled with laughter and memories of the sisters when they were little.

I looked at my watch and realized I was late, damn it.

"I need to use the bathroom, where is it?" I said, getting up from the table.
"Down that hallway on the right," Ashley said.
"Thanks."

I walked to the bathroom, took out my phone, and dialed the number I knew would answer right away.

"I'm in town."
"New York has the baddies bitch again?"

I couldn't help but laugh when I heard that.

"I need you. Call Jessica. I'll see you at the usual place."
"I can't wait. See you there, love" I heard before hanging up.

I walked back to the table where everyone was waiting for me. Lizzie gave me a sweet smile when she saw me.

"Sorry to cut this dinner short, I have to deal with some work," I said with a sad smile.
"At this hour?" Mrs. Olsen says.
"Unfortunately, yes."

Lizzie quickly got up from the table and stood next to me.

"Is everything okay?" she asked, looking into my eyes.
"Everything is perfect, sweetheart. Just wait for me here. I'll come get you as soon as I finish work."
"Are you sure?" she asked.
"I'm sure," I replied.
"Okay, don't be too long, and come back to me as soon as you can."
"I will,"

I said, giving her a kiss and leaving.

On my way to meet Carter and Jessica, I made a couple of calls, and apparently my plan was going perfectly.

I parked my car and saw the two of them get into my car.

Carter has been my friend for years. He's the gayest man I know, and I love him. He's funny and has a vibe that makes everything fun and extravagant, just the way I like it.

We met Jessica one night at a club in the city, and we've been inseparable ever since.

They've both known me for a long time. They know my craziest side and my strictest side. They know when to push and when to back off.

I adore them, and I know they would do anything for me, like now, at one in the morning, accompanying me to go shopping.

"So you call the store owner and he opens the store at one in the morning just for us," Jessica says, laughing.
"The advantages of being Y/n Y/l/n, honey," I say, laughing.

We walk along the shelves, looking at each piece of jewelry.

"So what are we doing in this very specific store?" Carter asks as he looks at each piece, his long fur coat dragging across the store floor.

"I came to buy something specific, and I know I can count on your opinion to choose the perfect piece," I said as I looked at which of all the pieces could be the best option

When we left the store and got into the car, we all felt the weight of what I had just done. It wasn't bad, it was just something I never thought I would do.

"So how long will you be here?" Carter said.
"Just five days."
"Are you planning on introducing us to your girlfriend, or will we have to go to your giant apartment and introduce ourselves on our own?" Jessica said, raising her eyebrows as I watched her in the rearview mirror.
"You'll meet her tomorrow. We'll all go out to dinner and then go to a club or something."
"Sounds like a plan, honey," Carter said, clapping his hands.
"Okay, I'll take you home. I promised Lizzie I wouldn't be late, and it's already been four hours."
