Blythe
Kade and I were working, but a little differently than planned. When we left the restaurant, we were coming back to the hotel to focus on work only, but that didn't work. We ended up naked in bed once again, so after we were done, we decided to stay in bed and work.
"I could get used to working like this." He smirks.
"What, naked in bed?" I laugh.
"Yes, it makes it more exciting. I can work and then enjoy your naked body for a moment and then return to work."
I roll my eyes, shaking my head. "You shouldn't be focusing on my body. You should be focusing only on the work you perv."
"Like you haven't checked me out and fought the urge to slip your hand under the cover and touch me. Don't play innocent in this sweetness, I know you better than you would like to think."
I ignore him and get back to work. It is already late. We are nearly done, though. After, we will need to shower and go to sleep, no distractions, no sex. I don't want to be exhausted for our meeting tomorrow. I can't mess it up. It could be huge for us. Plus, it is another way for me to prove all the jackasses who doubted wrong again. I always have fun doing that.
"Rude." He chuckles.
I don't look up at him, instead, I flip him off, laughing. I finish up on what I am doing, gathering everything and climb out of bed.
"I am going to shower. Alone. I don't need you all naked and distracting me again." I state firmly, waggling my finger at him.
Groaning, he pouts at me. "Why are you being so mean?"
"Because I can be, and I need to sleep. If we start again, we won't be sleeping any time soon. So, stay put like a good boy. And don't try to sneak in because I will be locking the door."
"You are no fun." He replies, crossing his arms over his chest.
"You have had plenty of fun with me tonight. You can wait until tomorrow." I laugh and disappear to the bathroom, locking the door behind me.
Trust me, it is tempting to invite him to join me, but we know where it will lead. I switch the shower on, climbing into it. I will be in and out quickly. I am too tired to hang around. Ten minutes does it. I wrap a warm, fluffy towel around myself, standing in front of the mirror to brush my teeth. That is when I notice it. A massive hickey on my neck, one that anyone would notice. I am going to kill him! I can't show up to the meeting with a huge hickey on my neck. It would look unprofessional. I will need to wear a scarf or hide it with make-up.
After I brush my teeth, I storm through to the room. Kade is resting back on the bed, hands behind his head, still naked and lying on top of the covers. I stand at the bottom and glare at him.
He pulls himself up onto his elbows. "Why does it seem like you want to kill me? What did I do?" he asks, confused.
"This! This is what you did. Now, I will need to hide it tomorrow." I whine, pointing at the hickey on my neck.
"Sorry." He says all while smirking. He isn't sorry at all. If anything, he seems proud.
"You look it, not. What were you thinking?" I huff, crossing my arms over my chest.
Laughing, he crawls towards me and kneels before me. He places his hand on my hip, pulling me closer. "You don't usually mind when I leave my mark on you, sweetness."
"I don't mind. You can mark me anywhere you want, but not my damn neck when we have a meeting." I protest.
"I couldn't help myself. I am sorry, tomorrow, before the meeting, I will go and buy you a pretty scarf to cover it up." He says, tracing his lips down my jawline.
I close my eyes, moaning. "You better." I breathe out.
His lips cover mine in a sweet kiss. "I will. I promise. I am not sorry for the huge hickey on your neck, just that I chose tonight to do." He chuckles.
I slap his arm playfully. "God, you are so annoying. Go and get your shower. We need to get some sleep."
"You know, if you let me join you, then we could already be getting ready for bed."
"Go, now." I snicker.
Kade pecks my lips and gets off the bed. He slaps my ass as he passes. "I will be back soon, gorgeous. Don't miss me too much."
Kade laughs as he disappears into the bathroom. I dry off, changing into my pjs. I clean up everything he left lying on the bed, making sure it is in order for the meeting tomorrow and slip under the covers to wait for him.
I find myself smiling. I can't help but smile when Kade is around. No, we aren't serious, but he is good company. He would be the perfect boyfriend for someone. He knows how to make a woman laugh and feel good, feel sexy. Whoever he does end up with will be a lucky woman, but like me, he doesn't seem to be in any rush to get serious with someone or settle down, which is fine. Both being on the same page makes things easier for us.
Kade returns from the shower twenty minutes later, getting ready for bed and slides in next to me.
"Are we ready for tomorrow?" I ask.
"We are more than ready. Stop worrying. It will go great. You are incredible at what you do. It would be hard for anyone to say no to you," he smiles.
"Thank you, that means a lot. You too, we make a great team, business and not in business."
"Yes, we do. Now, let's get some rest. We want to be at our best for tomorrow."
Kade kisses me goodnight before he switches the light off, and we settle down in bed for the night. He drapes his arm over me, pulling me back against him. I don't fight against it. I relax in his hold, linking our fingers.
"Sweet dreams, beautiful." He whispers, kissing my shoulders.
"Goodnight, handsome," I reply, closing my eyes and letting sleep take over me.
Tomorrow will hopefully go well. We can only give our best and hope for the best.
