Kade

I sigh as I watch Blythe disappear into the bathroom. I honestly forgot about that stupid envelope until now. I should have told her. My reason for not has come around to bite me in the all becuse now, Blythe is mad at me anyway. I tear everything up and toss it in the bin. It has been such an incredible day, and it is ruined. Shaking my head, I groan. I hope Blythe doesn't stay mad at me for too long. I understand why she is. Blythe is right, we don't lie to one another. I dry off and pull on some joggers, continuing to sigh.

I stroll over to the window and take a seat on the chair, which is the perfect height for a great view. It looks onto the harbour. It doesn't take long for me to become lost in my thoughts as I wait for Blythe to return. I need to work out who sent it, or should I say, dropped it off. I will sort them out. Our relationship is hard enough because it is a secret. We don't need anything else to make it harder. I wish people would stay out of other people's business.

Ten minutes pass before I hear Blythe approach from the bathroom. I turn to look at her. She makes eye contact, but only for a second and then quickly breaks it, not saying a word. She takes a seat on the bed, her back to me. It would seem she is still annoyed with me. I stay put. I've learned not to push, and her Blythe comes to me when she is ready.

Blythe continues to stay silent as she dries off and changes into her PJs. She begins to dry her hair, but she looks like she can't be bothered. I can use this as my in. I may regret it. I will find out by how she reacts to me. Hesitently, I stand from the chair and head over. Climbing onto the bed, I take the hairdryer from her and do it for her. Neither of us speaks until I finish drying her hair and turn it off.

Blythe glances over her shoulder at me and smiles. "Thank you."

"You are welcome, beautiful. Do you want it put in a tie?"

She shakes her head and gets to her feet. A second later, she pulls the covers back and slips beneath them. I want to join, but I am not sure if Blythe wants me to.

I move to kneel in front of her and take my place between her legs. She lifts her head to me.

"I am sorry, angel. I shouldn't have kept it from you. I shouldn't have lied to you. I didn't want anything to ruin our weekend. You are stressed enough with everything going on. I didn't do it out of badness or selfishness. I just wanted you to be relaxed and present with me," I say softly and caress her cheek.

Her eyes close, and she moves into my touch. "I know you didn't do it out of selfishness, Kade. You shouldn't have lied to me."

I sigh, hating her annoyance at me. "I know. I really am sorry."

Blythe slowly opens her eyes. She stares at me for a second. "Don't lie to me again, Kade. I hate it."

"I promise, I won't. Have I ruined our weekend?" I ask nervously.

Blythe shakes her head. "No, you haven't ruined our weekend. I swear, if this is my sister's doing, it isn't going to end well. I won't be staying quiet. I won't be calm towards her because being gentle with her clearly isn't helping anything." She snarls.

"We will work it out, but can we forget about it until we return home?" I refuse to let it consume our weekend.

"I will try."

I nod. "Thank you. That is all I ask for."

I reach in, covering her lips with mine and kiss her softly. Blythe smiles into my lips and kisses me back. I part from it first and slip into bed next to her. She doesn't seem mad at me any longer. I can sense she is still stressed, but trying to keep it at bay. I don't know who or why this is happening, but until we return to the city, I don't plan on thinking about it. They aren't worth it.

I grab the bag of snacks from the floor and set them between us. "Your sweet treats, my lady." I laugh. She always craves something sweet if her mood isn't great.

Blythe laughs loudly. "Thank you, kind sir."

I smile, glad to hear her laugh, rather than being moody with me. Blythe digs into the bag and pulls out a bar of chocolate, tucking into it and offering me some, which I take. Blythe moves closer to curl into my side. Slipping my arm around her, I kiss the top of her head. She glances up at me with the most beautiful smile on her lips. My breath catches in my throat, and I can feel my heart beating harder against my chest. God, I am so damn smitten with her. I get all those feelings you get when you have your first crush or fall in love for the first time. The racing heart, the butterflies, the sweaty palms and that strong urge to constantly be around them. I haven't felt this way since I was a teenager. I don't mean I am falling in love. I can't be. It is way too soon for that, but my feelings for Blythe are strong.

"Are you okay, handsome? You are somewhere else."

I pull it together. "Yes, I am fine." I smile and reach down, kissing her softly.

Blythe doesn't need to hear the thoughts running around my head. It would scare her off. Neither of us is ready to share what our hearts are feeling. She nods and cuddles back in, not asking any more questions, thank god. She must have believed me.

Blythe finds us a movie to watch, happily eating her chocolate. While she focuses on the movie, I focus on her. She really is the most beautiful woman I have ever laid my eyes on.

"Stop staring." She giggles, not even looking at me.

I chuckle. "Sorry, I will stop." I set my eyes on the TV.

I couldn't help myself. Every day, I find myself more in awe of her. She impresses me more every single day. I just hope something doesn't come along and mess it all up, take her from me. I couldn't deal with that. I don't even want to think about it. Closing my eyes, I draw in a breath and gather myself once again. I can't let myself overthink about it all because if I do, then I will overwhelm myself. When that happens, I close off, and I don't want to be closed off, not to Blythe, not after what it took for us to get to this stage of our relationship, rather than the casual thing we were before.
